HC played six of the nine MA D-1 teams and will play BU two or three times this season. Given the timelines of BB scheduling, this may reflect Covid priorities of short trips and reduced overnight travel. We missed the remaining two MA D-1 teams UMass and Harvard this year who happen to be 8-3 and 6-5 but play them periodically. All OOC games except for Marquette have been against New England teams. I like this budget, environment and pandemic sensitive schedule myself. I had a game canceled this upcoming Thursday as I was scheduled to shoot UW-Milwaukee at URI. The URI MBB squad has COVID after their trip to GA State.

The URI MBB squad has COVID after their trip to GA State. There's fifty Georgia State's between RI and GA. and another fifty between RI and Milwaukee. It's not like the Rams are playing Georgia or Wisconsin, they're playing derivatives of the flagship State University in each state and clogging up airports and planes to do so. I see multiple benefits of playing mostly regional OOC opponents unless you can gain access to something not available to you in your own region. In URI's case there are plenty of mid majors closer than Georgia or Wisconsin. HC M+W traveled to Creighton and Marquette this season. There are closer Big East teams but how many would play us? Those were good trips.

I believe we have not defeated a team with a winning record this season. Let’s admit our 7-3 (D.1) record might be deceiving Not a whole lot of wins in the OOC schedule this season against winning teams, 3 in total (2 by Bucknell over teams that are 6-5). I can appreciate why HC didn't have the hardest schedule as outside the core 4 returnees, the remaining 8 had either limited or no previous time on the court. I will be very disappointed if they don't upgrade their schedule next season to a more challenging one.

Vermont defeated Dartmouth on the road by 1; we defeated Dartmouth on the road by 13. Based on these scores, one would reasonably expect that we would defeat Vermont at home or, at a minimum, be competitive. And we lose by 30! Another example of why they play the games. CM needs to right the ship tout de suite.

If we continue to stink after they return from break, then we can worry.

W/regard to CC, I'd have no complaints about that scheduling if they were the game after a layoff; you see what happens when there's rust to shake off.

Should be noted, Vermont was off since December 10th when they lost to Duquesne as they had their game on December 18th canceled due to Health and Safety Protocols at Sacred Heart.
