HC plays next at 11:00 am on Wednesday at COLGATE. Massey makes HC a 4 point favorite (57-53) and gives the Crusaders (14-3) a 59% for the win over the Raiders (10-7).

This will be a challenging game. Colgate has talent. But they don't have much size. Allen and Berger should do well unless Colgate makes us have to match them by going small. Also, the time of day for the game makes it a tough one on the road.

At that time, wouldn't the team travel up to Colgate the night before?

Still....playing that early is tough, especially on the road. And we have a history of not playing sharp in early games. If I trust my memory....which is iffy but that's my sense.

That has been the case this season, the loss to BC was a winnable game & the UVM game was certainly hands down their worst effort of the year.

What's the furthest HC goes game day in the major sports?

What's the furthest HC goes game day in the major sports? I imagine Harvard, Brown, UConn, BC, Bryant, Merrimack are all day trips for football. UNH is 96 miles away and Yale is 111 miles away (all highway). I wonder what we have done for those recent road games? Dartmouth is 150 miles, which should definitely be an overnight trip.

We have the deepest squad in the PL. The best five players seems to change from game to game, although Foreman, Berger, Allen and McCormack have shined in the last three. BPC has gone 0-18-4; she can be the best player or a non factor. HCM will have to make some tough decisions when it's coming down to the last few minutes in close games. On the men's side, it's a 180.

You mean Merrimack and Bryant can afford to pay for hotel rooms in Worcester? Harvard didn't grow their endowment by being foolish spenders. Why not just hop on the Pike Saturday morning? They don't have to win recruiting wars by offering more frills than other schools. There should be a dividend for choosing FCS over FBS which includes saving money by living in the real, sensible world.

Interesting to see the two top defensive teams in the PL going head to head.
(HC = #1 / CU = #2)

Colgate was 6-24 last year and don't appear to have any frosh who are making a difference. We, IMHO, are better than last year and our first years are making a huge difference. I predict a relatively comfortable win and sincerely hope I don't have to eat my words.

BPC has at times not scored, but in the 0& 4 game, was doubled almost every time she touched the ball. She didn't press her offense, passed off to an open player that often lead to a extra pass for the score. Fortunately she didn't need to score, but she did play some stellar D.

I predict a relatively comfortable win and sincerely hope I don't have to eat my words. Madison Schiller is a frosh starter for them. She's a key piece to their improvement on defense and is capable of scoring although she hasn't done much of that. They can switch almost everywhere and if they have a decent plan to defend the post then we will be in a game. Kind of how Loyola doubled us on post catches and we struggled a bit. If not for a great game from Foreman, we might have lost at Loyola. But we didn't, so credit Magarity. This game, to me, will be about coaching in both the plan and necessary changes to the plan during the game. Last season's 6-24 was about a coach learning how to coach her group. They have talent. They beat American and Boston last year near the end of the season. Their point guard started on their 19 win team when she was a frosh. I agree with you that we are better this year and that our frosh are impactful. I am less confident (but hopeful) for a comfortable win. Just in case, I wouldn't have a big breakfast.

Haha. I get up so early, I'll be eating lunch during the game but, hopefully, no agita. P.S. You're absolutely right about Schiller; she's one of their best players and I missed that.
