In reviewing the teams on HC Men’s 2023 schedule for the position of Director of Lacrosse Operations (DLO): Providence College Men -No, PC does not have a Varsity Women’s Program. Merrimack College Men - Yes, (Former HC Coach, Peter Burke now an assistant) MC Women - No. Syracuse Univ Men - Yes, Syracuse Women - Yes, (each program has a dedicated DLO) Mercer Univ Men - No, MU Women - No. Dartmouth College Men - No, DC Women - No. Army West Point Men - No, Army Women - Yes. Lehigh Univ. Men - Yes, (Director of Quality Control), Lehigh Women - No. Boston Univ. Men - Yes, BU Women - Yes, (Shared person for both teams). Naval Academy Men - Yes, Navy Women - Yes (Each program has a dedicated DLO). Loyola Univ. Men - Yes, Loyola Women - Yes (Each program has a dedicated DLO). Lafayette College Men - Yes, Lafayette Women - No. Bucknell Univ Men - No, Bucknell Women - No. UMass Lowell Men - No, UML Women - No. Colgate Univ. Men - Yes, Colgate Women - No. 1. Merrimack only has a student volunteer in that job. 2. Lehigh's director of quality control is the coach's father. He used to be a volunteer assistant coach - unpaid - and I believe his current role is also a volunteer one. 3. Both of Navy's DLO's are part-timers who are professors on the Naval Academy staff. Don't know if any of their paycheck comes from lacrosse. 4. Army's men and women's teams share the same DLO. Not sure if she is a volunteer or is paid.

if you followed lacrosse, you would know that very few mid majors have a Director/manager of operations at all. For example in America East there is not one team that has a paid manager of operations for the men’s team or the women’s team. Those teams would be ecstatic to have a shared Director of operations. Followed lacrosse? Only wrote for the top lacrosse publication for ten plus seasons. So you might want to watch what you are saying. Doesn’t mean you wrote well.

Does the Crossports admin pay you per post here?

I have heard the game might be moved up and they need a NCAA waiver for that to happen. Awaiting on that.... Saturday high temp in Boston is forecast as 12 degrees; wind chill will be brutal. 24 hour shot of cold though, quickly moderates. For Bucknell’s opener today, temperature at game time is predicted to be 20° with a wind chill of 11°.

The 6 AM observation from Mt. Washington today. (I think some of the instruments may be frozen.) If UNH had a men's lacrosse team, I'm certain they'd be out there playing, and there'd be a photographer out there as well. No conditions too extreme for the Wildcats. WCI is Wind Chill Index value

Supposed to be right at the freezing mark on the Cape at dawn, thank goodness (something in the 0 to -2 range this AM).

WCI is Wind Chill Index value I do very little work for that cheap university in New Hampshire. Anyways UNH men's lacrosse still has more ncaa appearances and more recent than Holy Cross. They haven't had a team since the late 90's

4-2 PC, end of one.
PC were picked to finish five of six in the Big East preseason.

With 16 freshmen it might take a while for HC to find its identity as a team. It's interesting to see how much size Coach R brought in with the freshmen. There are some big dudes in the freshman class.

9-6 after three. It was 9-4, but scored the last two to give us a glimmer of hope with 15 minutes left.
Stats are pretty even. In fact, we’ve dominated FOs and ground balls.

Nice 5-1 run to get it to 10-9 late in the fourth.

12-9 final.
I'll leave it to the experts to share what this means, but seems like an encouraging start to the season, all things considered.

The two teams faced off on Feb. 5, 2022. Providence, who was ranked #14 at the time, took the meeting 16-9.
Providence returns 36 players, including 12 seniors and two graduate students.

The two teams faced off on Feb. 5, 2022. Providence, who was ranked #14 at the time, took the meeting 16-9. But it was all downhill for Providence after that, winning only five games the rest of the season and ending up ranked 51st in the nation, essentially tied with Lafayette.

PC has a new coach this season and I thought Holy Cross looked terribly disorganized. So many terrible clears by them on the day and they dominated face-offs so you got to win that game. Holy Cross was up 13-4 in face-offs after three quarters but was behind 9-6 on the scoreboard heading to the fourth. www.foley-photography.com/Lacrosse/College-Lacrosse/2022-2023-Season/Holy-Cross-at-Providence-College/

Thanks, BF.
Considering we were one of the worst D1 teams last year with a 1-13 record, were picked to finish last in the PL this season, and have a roster with 26 of the 45 guys either freshmen or sophomores, this score doesn't seem too bad. I trust your eyewitness account, though.
Seems like our FO guy must be pretty good.

I believe HC scored three goals on that EMO

HC only scored 1 goal on that 2:00 unreleasable. HC scored about 15 seconds in, won the next face off, but turned the ball over. PC took it down field and ran out the rest of the time.
And that was halfway through Q3. HC made it a one-goal game with 3:45 left in the 4th.

I felt like it turned the momentum...They scored at the 6:19 mark before the penalty and the penalty occurred at 6:33. So you can see why anyone that doesn't have the boxscore in their hand would feel like that turned momentum.
