Predictable one-sided loss at Loyola today 20-7 - Greyhounds coach showed mercy in the 2nd half - most of the game played with a running clock (when margin is 10 goals and more)

Those with interest in the program can watch the replay of the game on ESPN+. What is the saying, a picture is worth a thousand words. The game was over by the end of 1Q. The staff’s defensive game plan resulted in the girls running around in a disorganized manner, leaving gaps and easy goal scoring opportunities. While “freelancing” does not appear to be a successful offensive game plan against an adequately prepared opponent. One has to wonder what has been taught, if anything, since the start of the Fall Ball season on 9/1.

The head coach only had four years as a D1 assistant coach and two years as the head coach at Wesleyan when she got the job at HC. She had a career record of 10-20 and 1-19 in NESCAC play.

Interesting data. Through yesterday’s game, record at HC is 37-73 and 16-37 (PL) making the cumulative career record after a decade as a head coach: Overall: 47-93 (33%) and Conference Play: 17-56 (23%).

Same as last year. Remaining schedule Navy (A), Colgate (H), Lehigh (H) and Bucknell (A). one more L and it's another losing season.

Here is a website that provides lacrosse analytics. lacrossereference.com/stats/elo-d1-women/. The performance has been very consistent over time and is reflective of the W/L record under the staff. Essentially, if not for Lafayette, we would be the poorest performing PL program since 2016.

We almost lost yday - trailed 10-9 with 7 mins left and managed to score the last 2 goals of the game - avoiding an embarrassing loss

Well, it was even throughout and ended up as an HC win. No need for embarrassment there.

Tied at the start of the game but only competitive for the 1st Q with a 22-9 loss to Navy. Running clock (down by 10 or more goals)(4th time this season). 3 games left needing 2 Ws to advance to league tournament. Tough task since Lehigh and Bucknell have both improved and both could result in running clock deficits. Colgate appears to be a toss up.

WLax defeats Colgate tonight 13-7 @ Fr. K field.
Overall solid performance by the team. Team moves to 6-9 and 3-4 in the PL.

Beat me to it. Classmate was announcing the game. Was awfully tight game despite the final score. Still alive for a playoff spot.

As it should. Despite being from hot bed lacrosse country growing up, I don’t follow the sport very much but that shot/goal was just amazing.

Really enjoy watching games on ESPN+. Kudos to the PL for making the switch from Stadium. A “solid” performance against a team with no recruited goalie or experienced players, who left the team in Fall due to issues with the coaching staff. Colgate used an attacker as a goalie and played mostly freshman. So put an * next to solid.
The next 2 games are against Lehigh and Bucknell. Lehigh up first on Senior day and then a TH game in Lewisburg.

If they go 1-1, then they finish 5th behind Loyola, Army, Navy and Lehigh. I believe that gets them into the PL tourney and honestly that is a good result for the whole season despite some bad losses (Quinnipiac and American come to mind).

I am routing for the students, not the staff.
The season, even if they advance in the PL (which would be a terrific experience for the players) is part of the larger body of work that should result in a change. 49 Ws (to date) after 10 years of coaching? Another one or two does not matter. Losing 70% of the PL games does. There are other objective measures from the lax data that can be viewed from one of my posts. High roster turnover and the lack of alumni support are also objective indicators that those who have played are/were not satisfied with their experience.
The last name can only go so far. If, as others have written, contributions were made to the program to provide an employment opportunity for a coach with only a few years of experience, so be it. The administration that made those decisions thought a win/win could result. No criticism for the prior decisions. Continuing, given the objective performance measures, as well as more subjective data, is a terrible message, lacking in the aspirational culture that the school so effectively promotes and should not be further condoned. The school should inspire the students to leave the Hill believing that merit and performance, no matter the life pursuit, triumphs over fame, wealth and family connections.
ADKH has enough information at this juncture to make an informed decision. It will be interesting to see the result.

The current roster has nine freshmen, eight sophomores, eight juniors and seven seniors. That sounds decent for a mostly non-scholarship roster on a losing team.

HC graduate Jolie Creo (1st Team All Patriot, led HC in scoring every year for four years) is having a solid year at Stony Brook. Starting almost every game and fifth on the team in scoring. While not as loaded as in the recent past, SBU is the 1-seed in the upcoming CAA tournament.

HC (3-6 PL) at Bucknell (2-6 PL) today at 4 - Win and we're in the league tourney, lose and we can back into the tourney if Lehigh beats Colgate (very likely) This is the type of scenario we have fallen short on in the past - 4-6 league record sounds much better than the alternative.
