HC is now 5-7 and the Red Foxes of Marist are 4-8. Massey makes Holy Cross an 11 point favorite (70-59) at home on Friday at 12:05 (thanks, CTP). Marist is currently on a four game losing steak (Quinnipiac, Albany, Jacksonville and Delaware). Massey gives HC an 84% chance of victory. Last year, HC won their opener at Marist by 3 (67-64).

In recent games Marist has started three sophomores and one freshman, and their first two players off the bench were also sophs. This group included a Swede, a Dane and an Icelander. Apparently they've been unable to find a Finn or Norwegian yet.
Marist is horrible on the boards and plays weak defense.

I get the feeling his could be another Maine game if we were at Marist. I am very glad we are at the Hart! I hope HC can really explode offensively in this one, controlling the paint and getting put-back buckets.

Marist runs pretty effective backdoor plays, against man D anyway. One of their assistant coaches Lee was on Carmody staff at NW. Hart and Parker are big, strong guards, Hart all maac I believe, Parker in a bit of a soph slump, but can light it up. Funk emerging as a legit 3 point threat. They don't play much D and will be interesting to see how they play against the zone. Since I'm coming up with Marist friends this game makes me nervous. And I believe my wife has decided to wear red not purple!

Whose to say this isn't being done? We won't know until tomorrow. Nice ! No idea for sure if they are or aren't cmo- but I steered the folks in the back office in the field house to Dave Shea (Worc public schools AD for non-locals) last month ago in an effort to assist making these things happen.

That's great. With most schools still being in session tomorrow in an around Worcester, it would seem like a great day to have some young kids up to the hart with their teachers. (on the last day of school before vacation). I believe the women's team does something like this with the WPS.

Announced attendance of 2453. They got 905 for their last home game so I guess the local schools took full advantage of the field trip opportunity.

the name of marist forward isaiah lamb may be familiar to some, as he was on the cover of sports illustrated while in high school.
lamb played at the high school in baltimore where i used to coach basketball and he was homeless throughout much of high school and featured in the sports illustrated story on homeless high school athletes. the laundromat where he used to sleep is about a mile from where i live. even though i had left coaching by the time he was at dulaney, i got to know him a little bit and he is a great kid who overcame a ton.
nice reminder of gratitude for the many things most of us take for granted, especially this time of year when it's cold outside.
