You probably aren’t 75 years old!😉😂 Occasionally I wake up feeling that way (definitely after some golf) sometimes but no, not 75 years old! I am a sucker for paper tickets. I have a large collection from various "major" sporting events including my first game at Fitton vs. Harvard. I do think we should have walk-up tickets. That only makes sense.

From a Classmate: Ahhh, signs of the programs success!! I had no issues looking at the website and finding tickets...

What is the over/under for fans who never leave the baseball field? Easy answer there: ZERO. If they don't leave the baseball field they are not fans at all.

If they have given each student in every public Worcester elementary and middle school, plus faculty and staff a single ticket, are those the old-fashioned paper tickets? Inquiring minds need to know!
There are about 1,700 students per grade, for grades 2-8. So with teachers and staff, that would be about 12,500 tickets, not counting accompanying parents. If 20 percent (including parents) attend, that would bump attendance by about 2,500.
IIRC, they can't give free tickets to high school students, or at least the boys, because that would be improper under NCAA recruiting rules?

Just looking at some of the passing numbers Villanova put up in their game against Colgate. I wonder if we will see some gaudy numbers on Saturday. The weather could have an impact on that portion of the gameplan.

Jake was really, really pumped before, during and after the Yale game. He's usually not as demonstrative as Matt (not saying he's an introvert, at all) but for these game, he definitively was. IMHO, he's as critical, maybe more so, on our defense as Matt is for our offense. He took lemons (his injury last season) and turned it into lemonade (he's like an assistant coach on the playing field). "Everything happens for a reason." His focus and will to win, which is crazy to say, is on an even higher level this year. His entire football life he has always been the inner fire guy. From 4 Years old to today he has always been in complete control and his emotions are never too high or too low. He prides himself on being the calm within the storm. He had the game he absolutely loves ripped away from him last year. He respects how precious these moments are and values every play more than ever. His will to win is beyond words and it is so awesome to watch he and Matt Sluka play off each other with that unmatched competitive spirit. Fun times ahead this season they are only getting started! My parting comment for the day.....To say Holy Cross and Jacob Dobbs are a match made in Heaven is not hyperbole it is FACT! GoCrossGo!

When did the Colgate head coach take over the reins? I thought it was just recently, but maybe I am mistaken.

You had to register and you were emailed a ticket that you could then add to your Apple wallet.

The updated forecast on Saturday is not promising for a large crowd. Rain with a chance of heavy rain in the afternoon. High 50s. Too bad. These guys deserve a huge crowd on Saturday.

Would be a shame. Interest in Colgate may be (very) slight in Worcester but nice September weather + Homecoming + exciting Crusader football would mean a good-sized crowd.

Two quick thoughts this morning about Colgate: 1. One of my students pointed out that many of our opponents can watch film and study how to attack our defense/come out strong, but if Colgate is watching BC and Yale film, they won't be able to execute at the same level because of personnel differences and size differences on the offensive line. Interesting insight from a freshman in high school.
2. We all know what Brescia can do with his legs. Still the Colgate offense has 21 passing first downs to only 11 rushing first downs. Perhaps this is due in part to playing Syracuse and Villanova to start the year. 296 yards rushing before yards lost compared to 474 through the air.
That being said, I am not at all worried. Do we need to show up and execute (and start faster on D)? Yes of course, but these are two different level programs right now.

John Madden football? Personally, I'm concerned about our beautiful Fitton Field being torn up and turn into a mud bowl. Not concerned about jerseys getting dirty but we still have two home games afterwards.

Tough time of year for the field to be torn up. However, the HC "groundscrew" have a strong tradition of getting a torn up foeld. back into shape pretty quickly.
