yet the College will probably hire a uber vulgar rap "ARTIST" for Spring weekend. The PC hypocrisy knows no bounds. Folks can not like it but Title IX is a federal law and kind of here to stay. This falls under it. No wiggle room.

Cousy was successful in Superstahhs. I'm guessing the men and women were exchanging dirty vulgar Emails. If so, HC's action is paternalism at its worst.

The PC hypocrisy knows no bounds. The same could be said of your ignorance.

This falls under it. No wiggle room. Although I'm sure I don't know 90 percent of what Title IX says, do we know that this falls under that? What we, or at least the general public knows is that upper-class members of the men's and women's rowing teams wrote E-mails encouraging unacceptable behavior and that these E-mails used bad language. I tend to think of Title IX as being about gender equality and conversely discrimination. The fact that the school's public statement specifically states E-mails were sent from both men and women suggests that this is probably not a gender discrimination/harassment type of issue. Are there other aspects to Title IX? Based on the wording of the press release posted earlier in this thread, my personal wild speculation was some sort of freshmen hazing. Would that come under Title IX?

Title IX officers get involved in all sorts of stuff because lots of issues can turn into Title IX issues as that law is interpreted and enforced by the federal government. Here, if there is anything that has anything to do with sexual conduct or harassment or language or suggestion in any way, shape or form, it will be investigated by the Title IX office. The school's handling or lack thereof of any of these things could be alleged to be discrimination on the basis of sex.

You're ignorant of the facts here but still grandstanding without any knowledge of the situation.

This thread is very disappointing. No one who has posted here has contributed a single fact, or gives evidence of knowing anything about this situation. Instead, posters have simply projected their own bias. Sad. Stop it.

Now no one in the major sports would do it because it wouldn't be worth the risk of injury! Actually, that's a good question that I have no idea as to the answer: Did any mlb/nba/nfl/nhl athlete end up on the shelf for a significant period of time because of this show? Not sure....I know Joe Frazier nearly drowned in the swimming competition one year. Surprised no one followed up your post with a stereotype-laced response!

Met a crewer on campus today before the hockey game. Said their Florida trip was cancelled. Believes the whole thing has been blown out of proportion and that the season will be reinstated.

Today's hockey game was in B-port, NOT at HC. So you drove up from Fairfax to go to a women's game in a sport you have proclaimed zero interest in? Sure... Next time do your homework before before you try to cover a fabrication.
