THanks for sharing that. It is so typically "Chesney."

The ultimate compliment my Irish grandfather would give someone was that they are “real” - no pretense, no BS, honest.
Bob Chesney is “real.”

I remarked during the game, on this thread, that freshman Eli Thompson had made a great tackle. If you missed that play you can see it in the highlight video.?Then he went on to make two interceptions . I don’t recall seeing him in earlier games. I’d love to hear more about him from our experts I am not one of our experts but I enjoy following the new players who later become the backbone of the team. Outdated roster numbers, duplicate numbers, and players switching numbers had me thoroughly confused in the first 3 games with #19. I first remember 19 in 4th qtr of Merrimack, same at BC and Yale. Earlier and more action this week plus the three highlight plays. He was recruited as a DB but also excelled as a sometimes runner and receiver. Played in a private school division in Ga, I think he was all-state in that smaller school category. Recruiting-wise, I'm not sure he posted any other offers but was Alijah Cason-like in his enthusiasm for all things HC which was evident before and after his offer and commitment. I don't recall him being exceptionally fast, tall or big but he was a play maker. He had to have shown something when he got to campus to get looks early amongst so many talented players. The experts can explain why he's looked so good. He hit that runner perfectly when he separated his legs from the ground.

Right now Eli Thompson is an absolute steal. Honestly it feels like a number of the DBs are steals - Due, Crocetti, Comestro, Smith, etc. GA High School football is a high level of football and sometimes guys just get over looked because of size (lack of) or possibly playing in a smaller conference.

My compliments to our coaches for spotting those players and finding a way for them to contribute at the Cross.

So, here's another reason to have lights at Fitton, for later game starts and fireworks afterwards that would pack the kids in (but NOT in November!! Brrrr!):

There will be a bigger game on that day in a bigger city. H-D can vie for the face painting trophy. Our game will have post season ramifications. Inadvertent pun, but I'll take it. Go Cross!

The OL reserves were in during Slade's 75 yard run. Lots of game experience today for the HC reserves. 2s, 3s,& 4s played for HC vs. Colgate 1s for entire 4th quarter. Outstanding efforts from OL - Hanson, Newman, Schon, etc. with many pancakes and sealing off the linebackers, plus pass protection ! You have to admire their play in each of the games this year. They dominate..... Depth continues to be built by the coaches at every opportunity. The frequent substituting of OL & DL personnel is very noticeable from the start of every game. Let me second the turnaround play by DE Vaganick - stopping a 4th down attempt by Colgate QB. This turned the game into a HC onslaught in all facets. Beat Harvard !! I’m glad the Kevin’s noticed and commented about this play. BV had his best game of the season as did Springer. This is why watching film matters as much than just looking at the stat sheet. Who’s really “making plays” is on tape. That was the play of the game IMO.
