Some may find it fun to speculate, and that can be entertainig. Personally I think such a move has the potentiasl for disaster (as with UMass and UConn - both of which have much larger enrollment than HC as well as state funds to cover up such "mistakes"). Exactly- there is no Commonwealth of Holy Cross to bail the HCAA out if things go south. Plus, independent schools these days are an anachronism. Cannot conceive of a fit between HC and the MAC, CUSA or (LOL thinking of Worcester, global warming's not that bad yet) the Sun Belt. We're in the cat bird seat now picking off G-5 teams and giving P-5 teams the fright of their lives while revving up school spirit, depositing big guarantee checks and still being eligible for the FCS tournament and the outside chance of going. all. the. way if things break just right in a given year.

You may need to explain Red Barber’s “sitting in the catbird seat” expression. Most here weren’t alive when he was.

UConn averaged 22,095 last season over six games. They are in the same ballpark this season, Holy Cross on the other hand averaged 10,958 last season and this year has an average attendance of 8,400.

And you average 8,400 annoying posts a year-what a coincidence

HC's attendance is fair game for our resident naysayer.
Knocking HC for not considering, never mind going, FBS; because it's worked so well for UConn; is assuming facts not in evidence.
