Oh, I feel obligated to trot out the old cliche: "Next man up" and Mr. Pesansky did his part. Atta boy, Joe!

For those in the New York / New Jersey area, the Holy Cross - Fordham game telecast will be shown again on the SNY station starting at 8:00 PM this evening.

Since the defense has been having issues this year regarding tackling, maybe CBC should have the team review this video regarding how to stop an opponent.

Here's their schedule for the day:
Interesting how they still call it Jack Coffey Field.

It was on last night, a bit late due to the Jets post game marathon show. To get the broadcast to the 3 hour time table, they cut out 2 TD drives from the first quarter. The announcers put our Kevins to shame.

"The announcers put our Kevins to shame." Would not take much effort to accomplish this.

Safe to assume this is the same telecast as the espn+ on demand version?

I talked with a sports fan who watches sports on TV but doesn't subscribe to ESPN+. He saw the HC-Lafayette game on TV (NESN?) and called to discuss. So TV coverage is very helpful.

Exactly what I said last weekend with Harvard/Princeton being on real cable TV with NBC Sports Boston while Holy Cross was playing a big game in obscurity with ESPN+

OK. Now that this year's game is past ...
Can someone please explain why this game is not the last game of the season every year? It certainly has all the earmarks of a season ending rivalry game.
C'mon Kit. Talk to the league and make it happen.
And c'mon Fr. Joseph M. O'Keefe, SJ (HC '76) ... toss Georgetown in the mix and, now that we're all in the same Jesuit Province, create the Provincial's Trophy for the winner of the series between all 3 each year. (Think the Commander-in-Chief Trophy between Army, Navy, & Air Force) Would be so much better than the Turnpike Trophy!

(Think the Commander-in-Chief Trophy between Army, Navy, & Air Force) Would be so much better than the Turnpike Trophy! Very simple reason actually. Odd numbers of teams in the league means that Patriot League can't have a true rivalry week. There's always someone without a dance partner, so as it stands now, everyone except Lehigh and Lafayette have to rotate through either an end-of-season bye or non-conference game. If the league added an 8th team, permanent rivalry week matchups would be a possibility. And of course, Fordham-HC would be an obvious pairing. Sorry Colgate. Selfishly, I do kind of don't mind playing Fordham a little bit earlier in the season like we do now, when the weather isn't guaranteed to be awful.

Let Lehigh and Lafayette take part in the rotation.
Like-minded schools should look out for each other right?

I remember the Lafayette de-facto title game in 2009 was the last game of the season while it was Colgate the year previously. Georgetown seems to come up frequently as our end of year opponent. Lehigh-Lafayette obviously makes sense as they have played the most times of any teams in D1 college ball. That being said, I do think it is a tad unfair. Do other PL teams have natural rivalries? Cornell vs Colgate. Bucknell feels like the unwanted third wheel to Lehigh and Laffy.
Columbia vs Fordham. I think we are probably Fordham's biggest football rival and it has played out in recent years.

The Fordham announcers on Saturday’s game certainly played up the rivalry angle.

Bucknell/Colgate could be a good final weekend game if the league ever has an even number of teams. Regarding ending the season against Georgetown this year, the Hoyas beat Fordham by more than we did and lost to Lafayette by only seven points more than we did.
Unless HC knocks itself off the bubble with a Lehigh loss, the Georgetown game will be a must win for any chance of an at large bid so it will be as big as any rivalry game this season anyway. The mythical Provincial's Cup will also be at stake as both teams beat the Rams.

Can someone explain to me why we’ve had so many occasions this season where our players’ helmets come off - on Saturday it was at least 5 times

Safe to assume this is the same telecast as the espn+ on demand version? Slightly condensed from the ESPN+ replay but available to millions of potential viewers in the nation's biggest metro area. Fordham is the only PL toehold in the biggest TV market in America, glad we're getting a benefit from it.

I caught the last 12 minutes of the game last night on SNY on my overpriced Comcast package. I also saw it in person, but I was sitting in section 13. So having the TV angles and replay to see the stop on the key 2 point conversion was great. But nothing beats live to absorb the emotions of the HC players. I thought the broadcasters were good and I really liked the PA guy, who was very professional unlike the clown at Fitton. So is it Moglia stadium or Jack Coffey field?

It's both and it could also be the Joe Blow Gridiron on Jack Coffey Field at Moglia Stadium if Joe Blow donates the right number. Fordham could even have Jack Coffey Field just cover the baseball diamond because Jack Coffey was a baseball guy as I recall and then resell the name of the football field.
These extra names are mildly cumbersome but if the naming honor generates large donations for a college athletic department it's worth the slight confusion.
