Well, good luck with that. Some might say that the creature known as the WBIT was created to put the WNIT out of buiness since it's not owned by the NCCA unlike the NIT. Similar to the NIT, it appears that the WBIT is skewing towards increasing P5 participation. NCAA doesn't much care about low mid-major conferences. We take the scraps given. The WBIT plus the portal claims their first victim, the WBI was unable to fill their field

The power conference dominated NCAA wins again. Disgusting

The power conferences have bigger fan bases generating larger attendance at post season games, same for tv/streaming audiences and for non-aligned sports fans who make or break these tournaments with either in person attendance or tv/streaming viewership, a match between Indiana and Alabama is going to draw more interest than Central CT. vs Incarnate Word.
So money and survival of minor tournaments may be the culprit rather than big schools plotting to dominate small schools.

Colgate gets UAlbany in the first round, winner plays Providence. Depending on which Colgate team show up, should be a good game And Providence finished seven games under .500 and six games under .500 in Big East play. They still get to play in the postseason with a NET rating below 100.

Sorry, wrong thread, I have put it where it belonged. Since there have been follow up posts about it, I will leave it here also.

Speaking of Princeton . . . In her four years at the helm, Oxford's own Carla Berube is 100-16.

Speaking of Princeton . . . In her four years at the helm, Oxford's own Carla Berube is 100-16. Wisconsin WBB hired another coach with connections to Geno and struck out. Carla's performance at Tufts made her a Chesney like hire, similar to Bucknell hiring DP from Williams. That's a good path for HC to keep in mind for hires in all sports - proven winning head coaches from lower divisions.

Colgate up 16-13 over Albany. The usual smattering at Cotterell. WNIT logo on the floor and on the electronic horizontal board in front of the scorer's table. UAlbany goes 25-6 and gets a bus ride to Hamilton, but are showing up and playing hard.

Colgate with a strong first half lead UAlbany 39-25 at the half. CU is simply red hot, shooting59%. UA no slouch at 52%.

The Raiders are at Providence in the 2nd round - the Friars are very average

I think Albany ran out of gas at the end of the season. Injuries/discipline (one or two players suspended) depleted the ranks. Just the type of team you want to play in the postseason.

Maine loses by 25 to Ohio State. Watched most of the second half and found it very "watchable." Black Bears played them hard and pretty even over the last 20 minutes, and along with the rest of the audience, got to see Maine's star, Anne Simon, put on a show

Watched LSU storm back in the second half and blow out an excellent Middle Tennessee squad. LSU looked super. Angela Reese 6'3" looked dominant with her overall play on the court. And, LSU has some terrific players to go alongside Reese. LSU-Iowa again would be a great game with IMO the edge to LSU. But, apparently South Carolina has the best team. Evidently, the Lady Gamecocks will be tough for either team to beat. Is interest in the men's tournament ebbing while the women's tourney is growing in popularity?

WNBA seems to be adding more star power. Who will be a bigger star in the WNBA - Angela or Caitlin? Are there others in college who will outshine both of them?

The NCAA tournament and the Olympics are the big ones, the WNBA is like the poor step sister with only money, not school or national pride to play for. But maybe the slipper will fit this summer with characters like Clark and Reese coming on board.
