11,171 are about 3500 reasons why we should not play a Polar Park game every season. Bucknell would have drawn 4,000 at Fitton

Yeah, let's talk about the lack of fall foliage in a stadium packed with fans. Agreed, but as we have been saying for years the cameras need to be on the visitors side of the field to show the home crowd more and the campus in the background.

The back to back penalties on us in the 2nd quarter for false start and unsportsmanlike conduct on HCBC were some of the worst calls I have seen in a long time. Outrageous there was no false start Sluka was fake hiking the ball and then the ref had his feelings hurt and called one on Chesney. That crew yesterday didn’t have a clue. BAD!!!!!

I'm sure you saw in one of those Chesney video clips that he said he hopes the 1,500 fans that were tailgating at the last home game will find their way into Fitton for the Fordham game. A bit of pointed humor that is well deserved. It was more than that...for years we would just stay out and tailgate the team was terrible. Boy has that changed, we are all getting in there right at kickoff to get a good seat.

I have to tell you all the excitement of this game is really picking up steam. Between my classmate and I who attend and tailgate at every single game are expecting 60+ people just for our pre-game events. All of which have tickets and are excited to go in and watch the game. This is going to be fun.

"expecting over 20,000 for Saturday"
That would be amazing but not sure we get that high.

With all the success of this season so far and hopefully beyond for football, it is still disappointing that we don't have a crusader mascot on the sidelines. I wonder how many of the "offended" people are still actually on campus or have they moved on to their next crusade ? How cool would it be to have a real person wearing chain mail or silver armor charge in on a horse and stick a sword in the middle of the field pre-game similar to Florida state. I remember someone telling me that we did have a "live" mascot on horseback maybe in the 70's, does anyone have a photo of that? I did see a fan in full knighted gear at the Yale game tailgate on the baseball field which was pretty cool. No word yet if anyone needed to go under the stands to hyperventilate at the very sight of him....

It's not good that I can tell you... Polar Park is less than a mile away....so you are saying PP isn't in a good neighborhood either. That's correct.

Some perspective on our fall teams' struggles: M Soccer - going back to mid last season, we're now 0-6-1 in our last 7 PL games FH- since 2019, we're 5-16 in PL incl playoff games VB - over the '21 and '22 seasons we're 4-38 overall and 1-19 in the PL W Soccer - we are presently on a 22 game winless streak (0-17-5) going back to our last win on Sep 5, 2021 Where is that document that former ADMB published about the dedication to success on the athletic fields of competition ? some things never change.....

I didn't go last year, where people actually turned away or did they just keep letting in "standing room only tickets" etc? Just curious if I should get ducats in advance...not 100% sure I'm going. Thanks in advance. I went up to ticket gate last year probably 10 min before kickoff to be told they were sold out. Scalped tickets from someone walking in which worked out great.

Looking at stats from last year's game v. Harvard, Sluka had his worst game of the year. 4/16 passing, 2 picks, 30 yds rushing. Siderman (who played a lot) also had a pick and we lost a fumble as well. Total yardage was 368/254 which would usually indicate a much closer, low scoring game. I think we can expect Harvard to focus on stopping the run; Sluka needs to pass like he did in first three games, and definitely not like he performed against Colgate. And Harvard's pass defense appears to be lacking. P.S. No mention of HC in Sunday Globe, although UMass and Harvard were covered. Shaughnessy should throw his weight around, if he ever goes into the newsroom anymore now that it's in a downtown high rise. Might have young people as sports editors who think Holy Cross is D-3. Shaughnessy aka "The Goat Man" does not like Holy Cross despite his degree.
