Why do we make passing so difficult? Same cross court vs. the press was made twice in a row.

Not that this would preclude any injury, but I believe that Max continued to play and was effective enough to hit a big 3 to give his team a chance at the win. Actually hit two big 3s in back to back possessions.

Being a member of the PL makes the turnaround even harder. College basketball has changed. The league hasn’t and won’t/cant. The league is doomed to fail and moving on ASAP would be in the best interest of the program and school. What types of changes do you think the league won't/can't make? If you are talking about academic integrity, I think you're right that the league won't go there I don't think any of the PL members had systemic issues with academic integrity of student-athletes before its formation and I don't think any would going forward if they left the league.

Ky, I presume you did not find out why the 2 high scorers did not play their last game I think we saw in an earlier post that Max may have gotten hurt in the St X game . Perhaps the coach decided to give him a game off to get totally healed for the last regular season game and the playoffs. I saw nothing on Nava He went down very hard on his back when his dunk attempt on a breakaway was blocked from behind by the Jackson kid of St. X. Nasty landing.

The fact we are discussing avoiding a last place finish in one of the weakest D1 conferences in the country sums up what has happened to HC basketball over the last 5 years. I fervently hope better days are ahead. What I found depressing as well is that not only is Holy Cross basketball itself in the doldrums; the PL has sunk lower and lower and lower since the RW and Bucknell "salad days". 31st out of 32. Worse than the SWAC and the NEC, for heaven's sake. Completely unacceptable. Women's basketball is much more what I expected. 25th. It is an open question as to how many people outside of this board find the PL hoop ranking unacceptable.

ADKH and DP must move quickly to get this program turned around - we can certainly agree our preseason ranking of 4th was unrealistic but the inconsistent play of our seniors has contributed to many losses, imo We know our incoming class looks good but it will be critical to follow that up with an even better one for 2025 Unless there are transfers from the program, we have largely hitched our wagon to the current frosh and next year's frosh. Assuming the 13th scholarship is used for Coulibaly's 5th year or is held over, HC has 2 schollies to give in each of the next 2 years. Nine scholarship players will be frosh or sophs next year.

For some reason, Louth wasn't introduced for the senior day ceremony.... My inference from this is that Coulibaly will be on the roster next year It would seem that way.

NERR - Feb 8 Chuck Hare is the first name to know from this squad’s class of 2024, as the 6’11” center has already announced his college commitment to Holy Cross. He recently put on a double-double performance in a close win over Pomfret. Hare is known for his post-play and soft hands around the basket. Someone posts writeups on most of the KO games under the date on their bball schedule at their athletics website. It appears Hare might be averaging 10 points and 7-8 rebounds per game. That is a guess because he usually is mentioned under rebounding recaps but is absent a fair amount of time under the scoring recap of players in double figures. (A sophomore guard named Biggins looks like their leading scorer). Hare’s most impressive game seems to have come very early in the season against St. Andrew’s, a very good A or AA team in the NEPSAC. He had 21 pts, 11 boards and several assts or blocks. I think that has been their toughest opponent by far.

Incomprehensibly bad three point shooting made the difference 5-30 definitely qualifies as bad, real bad. Rabs and Ryan have nice strokes from deep. They must be really weak defensively to not get much time.

If Nugent and Louth are fully healthy for the PLT, HC could do some damage. Ah, I am going to guess not. On the latter that is, not the former part of your statement.

He looks like the real deal, already. Probably out of reach. He will be one of the most hotly pursued recruits in the country over the next couple of years I didn't realize he was that good.

While watching Oldham County and Max Green play St. X., I couldn't help but notice a 6'4" sophomore wing for X named Jeremiah Jackson. The kid is a physical specimen who looks like he is ready for D1 play today. I think he had 23 in the game and has been starting for two years. If I were HC, I would start recruiting him today and hope he has stopped growing at least height wise because if he gets to 6'6" or 6'7", he will probably have a chance to fulfill his dream of becoming a Tennessee Volunteer. Of note, his father played in the NFL and he is a member of the NHS. According to Verbal Commits, he was offered last summer by Ohio.

According to Ken Pomeroy, if the season ended today, HC would have a bottom 10 finish in all of D1 basketball for the 3rd time in 5 years. Somehow, I just can't wrap my mind around that one.

Fortunately BU and Navy both lost. Must-win at home against Army on Saturday if we are to have a shot at top six. Can HC get to 10 wins?

Green definitely needs to put on some weight. X leads by I believe 10 at the half. Green has 17 but hasn’t shot all that well. He has made some very nice passes. D is nothing special.

Love what I see from Tyler. Tough floor general who has played against elite comp. He’s a winner. Out of the Jave / Torey mold. This incoming class is very balanced + seems the staff is leaving a scholarship open for a transfer. Hopefully a big. If DP uses the 13th schollie this Spring, I can’t imagine it going to a gaurd/wing.
