Who knows what the Paulsen era holds for HC hoop. What we do know is over the last 5 years, HC has had one of the worst programs in all of D1 basketball and I don't think anyone can argue that fact. The record speaks for itself and is even more dreadful when you subtract 5 meaningless D3 wins in that timeframe. It has been an embarrassment.

Paulsen must be beside himself with this performance.

UMass hoop fans that express opinions on their board are not a happy group with this move. I can feel their pain.

I’m heading out now. Turn left at Cincinnati, right? Go straight thru Lewisburg. Good luck.

GW and Duquesne are the only original members of the A10 or Eastern 8 as it was called, left. Speaking of left, Duquesne left the A10 for a year or 2 for the MCC and then returned. Thus, GW is the only continuous original member of the A10.

Yes, and presumably A-10 BB is less dear to preserve now. Definitely a drop in prestige when it comes to MBB. But it's not like UMASS took advantage of being in a multi-bid league. They've been to the dance once in 25 years. Some of the UMass fans say the university might as well reopen the Cage for home basketball games.

I was thinking 15-20 min per game for Hare —sorry for not being more clear I think those are great expectations for a kid at his stage of development but who knows? Maybe he makes another big leap this Spring and Summer. Recruiting can be an inexact science.

Igor. Bud Light Daredevils. Top officials: Ed Batagowski, Charlie Diehl, Mickey Crowley, Jack Hannon. Marc Albert and Bucky Waters in the house. Maynard Allen on WTAG. Fouracre and the Cooz on 27. One brief shining moment.

The drop to 36.2% says he was not the threat he was last season. Bo, Joe and Caleb,(a greater threat than last season,)as well as the freshmen, are also offensive threats. Thus, more threats than last season. Shooting 40.4 % from 3 for a season requires a lot of skill. I'd say only CK of the 3 noted are more of a threat to score this year. I expect Batch to have a bounceback season next year.

I have wondered the same thing but the incoming frosh have a lot of adjusting to do and to count on frosh to be major contributors is a questionable strategy. For every Chris Potter, Mike Vicens, RP Jr and Garry Witts, we have had oodles of guys who contributed next to nothing as frosh. (I know, I am dating myself). Dating yourself a bit - yes, but that's alright.
Oh, those were the days...............I miss them so much. The Hart Center was electric for many a game. Basically, you couldn't get in w/o being a season ticket holder or a friend of one and the games were on Ch 27 to boot. Seeing the NBC trailer out back of the Hart Center was a thrill. (ESPN was a twinkle in someone's eyes).

One notable item from yesterday, Begnini scored 20, Batch zero. MacDonald was pretty much held in check after the first half. At least they figured him out. I think it's fair to say that Batch has had a very disappointing Sophomore season and, with the freshmen coming in next year, I'm not sure where he fits. Batch played 32 games last year, averaged 32 minutes per game, took 218 threes and made 88 for 44.4%. This year he has played 27 games, averaged 29 minutes per game, taken 116 threes and made 42 for 36.2%. That's 102 less threes attempted from one year ago. Has he missed GG kicking the ball out to him that much? Some say he has a difficult time getting his shot off but wouldn't that have applied last year as well. For the first half or so of last year pretty much all he did was shoot threes so opponents should have known what he was going to do and defended accordingly unless the GG factor was that great.

If everyone is healthy no reason to doubt we’ll enter our road play-in game as an underdog and play like one and lose - Fellas, that’s the likely scenario I agree. It is highly likely the bballs get put away a week from tomorrow. (Of course in today's age, the balls never get put away, at least for long. What a commitment these men and women make).

I tuned into Williston Northampton's livestream of their game vs Kingswood Oxford this afternoon and Chuck Hare was in sweats. Not sure how many other games, if any, he has sat out.

I have to think that Travis Perry , second to Max on the leading scorer list, will win the award because (1) he is the all-time leading scorer in Kentucky history and (2) he has signed to play for UK. There has actually been one Kentucky Mr Basketball on a PL team: 2012 winner Nathan Dieudonne went to BU I don’t remember Dieudonne.

I think Montana at Fitton would draw a great crowd. Possibly one of the largest at Fitton in recent decades. Wouldn't they be, arguably, the best program to play at Fitton in many decades? They probably would be the best team to play at Fitton in decades but I just don’t see them being a big draw. I think you have to be a very serious fan to know how good the Grizzlies are. There is no connection to them, they don’t show up in the big boy rankings, etc. Maybe if HC and the local media, such as it is, promoted the hell out of the game, it would draw 15,000, maybe.

Probably to the surprise of no one in the 8th Region of KY high school basketball, ( there are 16 Regions), the Courier Journal announced Max Green is the Region’s POY. He is also one of 19 finalists for the KY Mr. Basketball Award which will be announced on St. Pat’s Day. Three of the 19 finalists are from the Louisville area. The favorite to win the award is a UK commit who averages just over 30 ppg.

No posts on the Bucknell board about this game. Thought they were a basketball school? The PL really needs HC and Bucknell to become strong programs again.

Nice move in the paint by Louth. Hoop called off for foul but still nice fake and footwork. I don't think we have seen much of that.
