We should have beaten Colgate Sunday.
Sad that no one undah 50 or so has any recollection of an HC-BC athletic rivalry.....

We are closer athletically to Colby and Bates than we are to BC.

I understand that some still hate BC, but having them be good in basketball and on the HC schedule every year would be good for HC basketball. Assuming HC basketball will actually be good itself at some point (fingers crossed), having exciting OOC games that get local fins interested and showcase a good HC product (fingers crossed that this will eventually happen again some time) would be a great thing for the program. Why all the hate for BC? In addition to being a big rivalry for most of the 20th century (it was the last football game of the season for both teams during what TV now calls "Rivalry Weekend"). . . BC was the first school to jump to switch conferences to one that made no geographical sense to chase the almighty dollar. It's so common now that no one really thinks about it, but BC was a pioneer in this trend

I also remember someone painting the BC Eagle purple (he had to cover the cost of restoration after he was caught - you don't do something like that and not let folks know it was you). Those were two dumb things to do - but it does show the intensity of the rivalry. HC at one time played BC in hoops twice a year. It was always in front of a packed auditorium. Students sat in bleacher seats front of the stage and visiting students could get tickets on the stage. (In the top rows, you could not see the far basket). It was at one of those games that an intoxicated BC "student" asked behind the student sector, unzipped and began to relieve himself on the HC crowd. A member of the HC football team (I never did get a good enough look to see who it was) grabbed him by the neck of his shirt and began punching I'm in the face repeatedly. Both were taken away by security. The HC fan came back shortly (and was congratulated by those sitting around him). The BC fan did not return.
HC dominated BC until they got a new coach who upped their recruiting several levels - Bob Cousy. His first big name recruit was named Austin and was an outstanding guard. Clearly (at least in the late 1960s) it was far from a "friendly" rivalry.

That would be All American, John Austin. The Cooz liked BC’s admission “standards.”

True, but he hated recruiting (even though he was good at it). That was what he said was the biggest reason he gave up college coaching.

Hard to believe anyone could be that stupid. Is it just me or does Batt look like the old cartoon character “baby Huey”? All he needs for the complete look is that huge diaper.

between this incident and all the flopping (the league coaches ought to be all over this next year), colgate is becoming pretty unlikeable.

Down 27. Maybe he just wanted to get off the court

If he wanted to really hurt him all he had to do was hold his arm up higher. Would have been right in the face or neck. Was a few inches lower than that. Think he just wanted to leave.
Kept thinking of Billy Batts from Goodfellas "Get Your Shine Box".

Worcester was well represented on TV last night
Besides PC and freshmen Makai Ashton Langford upsetting Xavier on their way to the Big East finals, another Worcester player Matt Mobley of St Bonaventure played all 40 minutes and scored 29

UMBC about to go dancin'...... as a former umbc ballboy, summer basketball camper, and current adjunct faculty member, happy to see them go dancing! i don't expect them to break anyone's bracket, but a pretty impressive run nevertheless.

I'd like to see him try that stunt with AB (or Jehyve)..... OTOH, was impressed that Brown and the rest of Bucknell team kept their composer under the circumstances. All business, finish the job, start dancing
