Like most of his teams, McKillop’s teams progress during the season. URI did not get better. Davidson won the tourney, URI did not. They beat URI TWICE in 10 days. By using a few isolated players, you make it seem as if the teams have comparable talent. They do not. Teams make mistakes at the end because they do not handle the pressure as well as those who do not make those errors. Coaching has a great deal to do with that. One coach’s calmness vs another’s frantic behavior may be a factor. We continue to disagree. I am however glad that Hurley and URI did not slip up in their OOC schedule against awful teams such as Appalachian State and Hawaii as McKillop and his team did. I didn't have to sweat out the outcome of the game today as Davidson fans did. My team earned a bid to the tourney of the basis of its entire season, not just three days.

As the top seed, URI lost for the second time in ten days to the 3 seed. All that other stuff you say is irrelevant Hurley is a very good recruiter to a school with far easier academic restrictions than Davidson. McKillop is an excellent coach with lesser talent.

Davidson gets pretty darn good recruits...let's not kid ourselves.

No doubt, but to get students who will be accepted, McKillop has to search world wide. And they are not the equivalent to URI’s recruits—all I was saying

Davidson gets pretty darn good recruits...let's not kid ourselves. Agreed, Kellan Grady was a more highly-touted player than anyone Rhode Island brought in last year. He was higher rated than 12 P5/Big East recruits for the 2017 NERR class. Starters for Davidson and their P5/A10/AAC/Big East offers out of high school: Peyton Aldridge: Creighton, Dayton, Richmond Jon Axel Gudmundsson: None, foreign player Kellan Grady: Creighton, Saint Joe's, Northwestern KiShawn Pritchett: Low/Mid-Major offers only Will Magarity: BC transfer Davidson has some good talent in their own right.

A.J. Brodeur looking awfully good for Penn . . . And another Northfield Mount Hermon kid, Kellan Grady, doing the same for Davidson. Both Brodeur and Grady will likely be conference PoYs before they're done. Wish we could compete for players from NMH. Holy Cross would have a damn good team if they recruited Northborough and Marlborough well this decade.

Penn beats Harvard by 3 I wonder if Harvard likes the tourney being played at the Palestra ? The pissing and moaning by Julian Benbow the in the Globe today is off the charts. To his credit, Amaker didn't take the bait nearly as much as some coaches would have. As far as playing the tournament there, Hahvad....TAKE YOUR MULTI BILLION DOLLAR ENDOWMENT A BUILD A DAMN FACILITY BETTER THAN (AS HC 87 WOULD SAY), BROCKTON HIGH SCHOOL AND MAYBE THEY'LL MOVE THE TOURNAMENT AROUND!

Is Mobley Woo's best player since Bradley ? Possibly - although when all is said and done, I think Ashton-Langford (freshman at PC) will be better than Mobley

Tharpe had the ability, don't know where he ended up after Kansas.

Tharpe was a better high school player than Mobley but didn't develop much in college, where Mobley did develop. Mobley started at CCSU but outgrew the NEC and was able to transfer to the A-10
I don't think Tharpe ever went to another college

Close game, not bad for the PL reputation, I imagine.

Not exactly sure that it could have helped or hurt the "PL reputation" given probably around 200 people even knew the game was being played.

Well if even 200 now thought Colgate as a legitimate team, that is a step in the right direction. Certainly not a good NCAA, or even NIT, game, but a step. And, that would be 200 who at least know Colgate as more than simply a brand of toothpaste.
