I understand why they didn't get in, but I'd much rather watch a veteran St. Mary's team than a team like Kentucky. It's just my personal preference. I can probably name more guys on that St Mary's team than I can the whole SEC lol.

Unfortunately, I think UMBC just jumped past us on the waiting list for the next BE slot. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Should Holy Cross consider the America East Conference? Higher level of play with plenty of close geographic long time rivals which seems to be what Crusader fans want. (sarcasm intended)

(sarcasm intended) Like the MAAC, when HC was in AE (ecac north or whatever it was called) the opponents were more attractive than they are now. Enough said.

Do you mean that league was so attractive that you don't even know what it was called? Hardly a strong point in the conference resume.

Was this a new low for the PL this year, 27?

Seeing how freshmen probably played more minutes than any other year in league history, it would make sense. However, I think it has ranked lower in some of the pre School years.

A new ESPN streaming network, ESPN+, still going to cost IL fans $5 a month to watch basketball however.

It's also unclear, at least to me, what effects ESPN+ will have on existing ESPN3 programming. Some will shift, but ESPN has not been specific. I wonder, for example, whether MAAC basketball will continue to be streamed on ESPN3 or whether it's viewers will have to pony up $5 a month, too. From deadspin.com/espns-new-4-99-a-month-service-is-taking-away-some-pro-1824262409:"While certain aspects, like the MLB and NHL games, are brand new, one of ESPN3's main draws is a wealth of college games in lesser-watched sports or conferences, as well as expanded coverage of Grand Slam tennis and global competitions like cricket. The network has so far been vague about which leagues and games will get cannibalized from ESPN3, or how many, but ESPN did confirm that some of ESPN3's programming will change."

Does Bucknell explore making a similar jump? Great program (which I'd take in a heartbeat), great school, great (small, relatively) arena; but nothing else going for it. TV market incredibly small (which one is it?) . Dwarfed by nearby Penn State in just about everything athletically. Not happening. Bucknell alums love their team and neutral to Patriot League. Rather than being a bottom feeder in larger league, Bucknell focused on making NCAA's. Over many years, HC=bad coaching, poor admin support, poor attendance, and average to poor facilities. Alums could make a positive difference by making best of current team and resources rather than going back 50+ years. Ralph Willard's teams could have played in many leagues but he is a long way from walking though the doors of Hart.
