Interesting to read we have a new degree in finance One of HC's continuing academic shortcomings is the paucity of courses in finance, or related areas. There is only course explicitly titled such: international finance (given every other year). To be fair, there are three or four other courses that could be construed as 'finance'. But apparently still too few to allow a student to have a concentration in finance within the economics major..

Interesting to read we have a new degree in finance I wondered the same thing. Is it included in economics?

Pet peeve of mine: why HC doesn't market itself far more as a "liberal arts & sciences" college -- which is what it is and better for marketing imho.

Thanks, Pak. That does seem like something that would be a positive addition to the overall HC curriculum.

Thanks to the leadership of Art Ciocca and JD Power the college has actually made huge strides around/within this space. Rather than my writing out all of the fabulous developments around the topic of "Business within a Holy Cross Liberal Arts education" I welcome providing the following links: www.holycross.edu/academics/ciocca-center-business-ethics-and-societyThe college now offers a Business minor. www.holycross.edu/jd-power-center-liberal-arts-worldAn interesting footnote to the Art Ciocca inspired program. Holy Cross fumbled the initial rollout of this effort back in the early '00s. Art was offered his money back. He told the powers that be not only to keep that money but then gave another check with the message, " Go do it the right way and come back when its done." Bravo and thank you to both Art and JD and family for their inspired leadership.

I wondered the same thing. Is it included in economics? No major, minor, or concentration in "finance". The irony is that every year, a legion of graduates go to work on Wall Street in "finance".

It is still a good idea and Chu is right, plenty of liberal arts grads from HC, and other schools, get jobs in finance every year right out of college.

Seems to me word is spreading that HC is the place to be for cream-of-the-crop student athletes who plan on winning championships. The momentum is building, with recruits feeding off of one another in their positive energy and making early and confident commitments to the college. Hope Colgate enjoyed their time on top.

HC 48 Navy 17 The opposite is much more likely. I really don't expect much progress record-wise this season.

HC 48 Navy 17 The opposite is much more likely. I really don't expect much progress record-wise this season. We could move from 5-6 last year to 6-6 this year if things break right. That's progress. And despite the PL football reputation, winning that league championship is progress too.

Very sure they won't be as formidable as BC....BUT that triple option is hard to plan for. Pretty confident in Chesney having a better team this season with more of 'his' kids in the mix.
Subject to more info closer to kick-off, I'm feeling Navy 31 HC 17.
GO CROSS GO !

An aside...going to the list in the first post on this thread and looking again at the highlight film for each committed recruit is a great way to pass the time when trying to cope with insomnia. Thanks for that! Any more on the #11 and #12 commits?
