Anything new here on the BC front? Haven't really heard anything nor have I really looked.
Any other movement on the FCS/FBS head coaching carousel in the Northeast? Not concerned (yet) just curious how the head coaching landscape may change in this neck of the woods in 2020.

Al Washington, a BC alum who has never been a coordinator, is apparently in the mix.

Steve Addazio was hired as Colorado State's head coach I doubt that 60 miles away from Denver is the worst place in the world to end up. Good luck to him. Kind of surprised he ended up as a head coach w/o another stint as a coordinator, but kind of glad that the shots that people took at him the last couple weeks didn't hurt him that much.

BC football job is tough...as has been discussed here. Probably one of the tougher jobs in the country to be successful year after year. Similar in some ways to the PC hoop job...expectations are very high and it's tough to win consistently at either places given the leagues they are in.

BC's OC signed on with Northwestern, which had a tough time moving the ball this season. Interesting background--Mike Bajakian is a graduate of Williams, where he was an all-ECAC QB. Started his career at the Delbarton School and had stints in the NFL, Univ. of Tennessee and just 1 year at BC. Likely a nice bump in comp.

Today the hot rumor is Jeff Hafley, Ohio St def coordinator being very close to finalizing the details with BC - he's from Montvale, NJ and played at Siena in the early 2000's (guess they had D.3 football) - started his coaching career at WPI - Since Addazio took the Col St. job, BC had an additional $2 mill to work with

Siena was part of the long-since defunct MAAC football league, which was nominally a I-AA conf.

Siena was part of the long-since defunct MAAC football league, which was nominally a I-AA conf. MAAC football basically turned into survivor after the year 2000. At one point Siena, St. John's, Iona, St. Peters, Canisius, Fairfield and Lasalle were all playing football under this banner. All now defunct. Out of those programs, Fairfield is the one who should've kept the sport and gone full PL membership. Oh well. The conference was down to 3 members in 2008 when Iona dropped football. Marist and Duquesne were the last men standing at that point. Georgetown was in the MAAC until around 2001 or so when the PL needed to replace Towson, who had just gotten invited to the CAA for all sports (they had been A-EAST). Even further back, Fordham played football in the MAAC in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Kinda hard to believe that ND and BC could have head football coaches who played at Assumption and Siena. Funny world...

Martin Jarmond was hired as BC's AD back in April of 2017. What was he prior to his new gig? Assistant athletic director at Ohio State University! Guess he knew all along who he wanted as the new BC football coach! !

They are probably rolling their eyes in Columbus.
Why would ANYONE leave OSU for some rinky dink eastern school after being at OSU? They are still wondering why Gordon Gee left to go to Brown! Brown??!! Of course Gee turned out to be a carpetbagger and shortly left Brown for Vanderbilt and then left for . . . .

The twitterverse has made Hafley into the second coming of Frank Leahy.
BC loves to win coaching introduction press conferences.

It's so funny seeing the quotes from the new coach at BC talking about how they need to focus on recruiting in Massachusetts and New England as if he just got a job in FL or TX. Addazio did the same thing and significantly boosted the number of kids from the area on their roster and it got him fired.

The 2012 bc team had
23 Massachusetts players 3 Connecticut Players 1 New Hampshire player
2019 Roster lists
14 Massachusetts 8 Connecticut 3 New Hampshire
It would be interesting to see where the players on the two deep come from--see if the Mass players are well represented there
NOTE: oddly enough, 8 of the 25 New England players are tight ends

Adazzio was fired because he couldn't recruit a quarterback....and lost Don Brown to Michigan.

He was a .500 coach (and some of those wins were cupcakes) and that is not what BC finds acceptable.

There are 8 recruits from Mass in the 247 top 1000 (3- and 4-star players) this year. BC has 2 of those 8, with the others going to Michigan (3), Notre Dame, Wisconsin, and Colorado. Of the 18 recruits in the 247 top 1000 since 2015, more went to Michigan (6) than BC (5). I'd be willing to bet that any successful team in the ACC (or any other Power 5) is not missing on 75% of the top prospects in their state. If BC can't get the top prospects from Mass, they're sure as heck not going to be getting any top prospects from the other states that their competition is located in and/or recruiting in.
