Did Holy Cross hire a group of senior citizens in Florida to make this season's schedule? Many of the games will be over in time for the early bird buffet, which is fine by me.
Now league play begins. Our first seven player rotation is clearly defined and healthy, the three ball is dropping and we can score inside also. Let's Go!
It may have been my imagination, but I thought the individual form of Holy Cross players when they launched a three point attempt was superior to that of the Stetson players. Maybe we have a coaching premium -even short handed.

Massey makes Holy Cross a 5 point favorite (71-66) with 64% chance for the win.
Loyola is currently 3-8. They have wins over FDU, and in their last 2 games, Monmouth and Dartmouth (on a 2 game win streak). They have lost to Notre Dame, Northwestern, FL Atlantic, Howard, St Francis NY, Wright State, Mt St Mary's and Maryland.

A young team with 4 frosh getting good minutes. The coach appears to be looking for a solid starting 5. They do not seem to have much experienced height. Karcz is clearly their star, with several double doubles this year.

Grad student Ashley Hunter is averaging almost a point per minute played (20 pts in 22 minutes). Megan Swords could have a big afternoon against this line up. I like the modified alley-oop high arching pass only she can catch she got a couple of times underneath against Stetson. She quickly went up and banked in a bunny on at least one of them and Stetson had some height. That could be a deadly play against these Lilliputians.

Ashley Hunter played their first two games and got hurt. Has not played since. She missed almost all of last year with an injury. Was a starter before the injury. Loyola has been crushed by injuries the last few years. Their leading scorer from last year, Isabella Therrien, who was PL ROY in 2018, got hurt midway through last season - ACL I think. She returned for two game in early December and then apparently was hurt again. Another starter from last year, Taleah Dixon, who made the All-Rookie Team in 2019, is out for the season. Possibly another ACL. Injuries to these three players are the main reason Loyola has been forced to play so many freshmen. If the 6-1 Therien and the 6-0 Hunter were healthy, Loyola wouldn't have such a short starting lineup.

Why do some here believe that Faulkner has recovered from her injury ? (I edited my original post to say this) Unless she got hurt again during the game (apologies if she did and it was mentioned) or in a subsequent practice (again, if it was mentioned, I missed it), she played sufficient minutes (25) to indicate health is not an issue. "Rustiness" may be, as her 0-8 from the floor most likely indicates.

I described the first seven players as "clearly defined and healthy." Please substitute "cleared to play" for healthy or "in the line up."
With HIPPA we really don't know the health status of any student athletes and that is fine. Hope she can play regularly. 5'11" with guard skills is a great contribution to a PL team.

That depends on the school. Athletes at many college programs sign waivers which allow at least some medical info to be released. And HIPAA doesn't apply to coaches releasing certain info anyway, although many choose not to do so.

HIPPA.......a law that health providers, docs, hospitals, dentists, etc. hide behind, often to a ridiculous extent. It's all about liability protection, suit avoidance......not patient privacy.
