I find it hard to believe that Green transferred out of fear of competing with Lowder.

trimster, That is, of course, correct. As an aside, aren't the initials for Fairfield University FU (not FF)?

Hence, my use of the conditional "suspects." I have met Caleb a number of times and his parents many times. Based on those meetings and discussions I posted my suspicions after NAD asked the question. I know it is not a fact. If Crossports posts were confined to facts (not the "alternate facts" kind), we'd still be on the first page of threads on all subjects after more than 10 years of existence.

Some folks on the Fairfield board refer to the university as FF perhaps to distinguish it from Fordham University. You are correct though in that FU are the initials for Fairfield University.

Sorry, give credit to who? The guy who left halfway though one season at HC because his coach seems to have cared about more than what he could do with the ball in his hands? I enjoyed watching Lowder play earlier this season, but when he couldn’t make it through six games without getting suspended, was apparently such a pain after being given another chance that a coach who is desperate to win and prove himself chose not to play him, and then left town before a full season, I can’t help but think we’re better off with someone else as the PG position to lead this program back from the ashes. Guys like Torey Thomas, Jave Meade, and Pat Doherty would not have followed the path laid out above. Maybe you have some info many of us don't have, but this sounds like assuming all sorts of facts not in evidence

Suspended for first half of FAU game (11/29) Back to starting lineup Hofstra game (12/1) — injured in that game 26 minutes off the bench in Canisius game (12/14) DNP - CD in Sacred Heart (12/22) and Siena games (12/29)

Fair point I do not know that Lowder left the team because Coach Nelson cares about things other than offense. Absent facts, I can think of other potential reasons that have nothing to do with Coach Nelson. I do not know that Lowder was benched because he was such a pain. That may have been the reason, it also may not have been

Makes me wonder why he went into the portal with no place to transfer to. What about the schools he told ESPN that were interested ? Wasn’t Washington State one ?

Let’s hope the ship has not completely left the dock. Glad that he is still enrolled at HC.
Hopefully all parties will have several more days to view the issues objectively and determine primarily what is educationally best for Drew, then his athletic path for the next three years.

No idea what’s going on. Making important life decisions at 18 years old isn’t easy. Hopefully he’s getting sound advice from those close to him and it all works out for him.

I thought scholarships were dependent on the player playing ? Did he leave the team ? Is he paying full costs ?

He's no longer listed on the roster. So yes, safe to say he's left the team.
I assume since he's not playing, he can still transfer somewhere this summer and be eligible in January '21?

I think you have to be enrolled in the new school for a full year but I could be wrong. This is obviously an uncommon scenario.

This is obviously an uncommon scenario. according to NCAA rules, you have to be enrolled in the new school for a year before you are eligible. However the NCAA has given waivers on a number of occasions to allow a player to sit only one semester or not at all. No idea what all of their criteria are.
