Just as well from the Crusaders point of view.
Hopefully the team can now get to go home for Christmas a little earlier and a chance to recharge their batteries a bit before a very challenging opening PL game with Navy on New Years.

Winless in the non-conference for the first time in program history?

What a bummer as I was looking forward to attending and had already purchased tickets about a month ago. Looks like a credit rather than a refund is the policy of the SJU administration. BTW, cost of tickets was $45 plus a $2 processing fee and there is a $10 parking charge. So for all those who think joining the A-10 is a swell idea, how many are willing to pay that kind of coin for a regular season game? Perhaps that is a discussion for another thread. Next up for me, a trip to the Lehigh Valley in January.

Went 0-12 in the OOC in 1984-85.

You couldn't see, but in answer to your question about paying $45 and $10, I took a step backwards.🙂 With a good coach, BB in the PL is a fine level. Tickets are somewhere around $10 and $0 for parking. And when the championship games sold out, I recall free parking in the garage with a free shuttle was available.

St. Joe's was likely going to be another double-digit loss. Team morale is probably pretty low at this point, and another lopsided loss doesn't help matters. With about a two week gap in between Harvard and our next game, nice to get an early start on prepping for the PL and Navy (probably the best team in the PL this year). Perhaps Nelson can use this time to figure out how to install a defense that makes it a bit more difficult for opponents to score. I think we need a guy like Gates to step up and be a vocal leader on the court and in the locker room. Don't know if this is in his personality (and who knows, maybe he's already doing this), but we desperately need a guy to rally around. Outside of Navy, Colgate, and BU, every team in the league is ranked #260 and below. If there is talent on this team and Nelson is a halfway decent coach, we are supposed to win a chunk of PL games.

The Hawks really jacked ticket prices when they renovated Hagan.

1. I wouldn't be surprised if they played someone local (D3s tend to be off during the holidays, or at least a lot of them are) a week from now, bet there's someone in the same boat looking for a game to tune up. Someone along the way down there as there's nothing tying the kids to campus at this juncture. 2. When HC dropped out of the PL tournament last year, did anyone get info on which player(s), if any, tested positive?

Bus to Providence cheaper than a bus to Philly! If Brown is willing to travel, no need to take a bus. These guys can walk up the hill. Brown wouldn't want us to come to them, At least not NAD and HCFC45

I'd be somewhat surprised if we took up this offer....supposedly Brown blew our doors off in a scrimmage.

I wonder what is involved in setting up a game for the next day. Would ref's that were headed to PA come to Worcester? Not suggesting it couldn't be done. Just saying there are some logistical details that would have to be addressed. Not quite as easy as saying let's just do it

The scrimmage was at Brown, right? So, they'd "owe" us a trip to the Hart. Depending on holiday family commitments, I would go to either and if at Brown, I've got enough juice that NAD could slip in past the co-ed guards. Not aware of HCFC45 being any more on their wanted list than me.
I'm guessing wherever it would be played, it'd be a loss for the Crusaders but would also guess it'd be a lot closer game. Now, here's the bottom line, would Nelson want to play another game (and a probable loss) or would he be content to let the OOC schedule conclude without a single D-1 win? My money is on the latter but hoping for the former.

If I were the coach I'd ask the players if they wanted to play another game on short notice. Their answer would tell me a lot about the team's mindset...

The Bears will arrive with sugar plums dancing in their heads and leave with coal in their stockings courtesy of the guys from the power plant.
Seasons have turned around on thinner dimes than this type of serendipity. No travel to Philly for a likely loss replaced by a more possible D-1 victory gift wrapped with free one day delivery up Rte. 146 and McKeon Rd.

SJU is pretty expensive by A-10 standards. They can get away with it as their arena is small and they have a loyal alumni following.
To see St Joe's play at URI in the Ryan Center in January, the single game ticket prices generally range from $12 to $40 depending on location. The surcharge per ticket runs from $3.50 to $6.75 based on the cost of the ticket. Season ticket per game prices can work out slightly less. Rhode Island also offers mini packs, family four packs, and various promotions (student seats behind basket during break for just $10.00). Plentiful nearby outdoor paved lot parking is free for all games. From what I have seen, URI prices are in the mid rank of the the A-10.
