W Mich 24, Wash State 21
When was the last time a MAC team beat a Power 5 team in a bowl game?
You'd think in a matchup that was created at the last minute, like this one was; the team with theoretically more talent would prevail.

I thought they were a replacement team. If so, have to imagine they were a little rusty.

WSU was scheduled to play in the Sun Bowl the whole time.

Pac 12's last hope for a bowl win is Utah in the Rose Bowl vs Ohio State. 0-4 and a no contest.
The fact that half that league couldn't make .500 is another sign of weakness.

Portnoy's complaint is null and void. He sponsors a Bowl on the cheap. Bowl blows up.

Marcus Freeman's first game as ND coach reminiscent of Ara Parseghian's last game as ND coach. And Utah' helmets are a homage to Non Alum Dave......"U U" !

Doesn't it seem like all the bowl games that canceled over COVID were minor games where participating schools would struggle to break even?
Interesting that none of the big-money games had the same kind of issues...

Interesting that none of the big-money games had the same kind of issues... The Sun Bowl is minor with a 2.28 million dollar per team payout?? Or the Holiday Bowl with a 6.5 million overall payout? fanbuzz.com/college-football/bowl-game-payouts/

Sun Bowl ultimately took place with CMU leaping into the open spot from the AZ Bowl. Holiday Bowl was the biggest bowl game to have been cancelled...unless the CFP Championship Game gets called off.
And to your point foley, Gator Bowl did have a dropout as well, forget who it was but Rutgers hopped in. Im sure payout for Gator is pretty substabtial.

Second tier bowls get filled and go on. Newer lesser bowls cancel. money, money, money
