HC has to offer this young man what HC is. He has the opportunity to go to one of the premier colleges in America. The school offers an unequaled combination of an elite education with a prestigious degree and with great athletic facilities in the Northeast. HC offers an opportunity for greatness with a successful fulfilling post graduate life. The network of HC alums is & has been legendary. My G-D HC offers so much both in basketball but more importantly beyond. in life. And, the team needs a big guy who would dominate in the PL and would no doubt get a look by the NBA. This is truth.

He plays the same primary position as Gates, and Louth. James obviously needs to improve. Would he improve under Nelson ?

What's the problem with Gates moving to the four at times? We need more size and deterrence inside, where we've been very weak defensively.
James will have three years to develop here.

Gates has played very little 4. That is not his strength. Why would the team take away the best player from his strength ? Especially offensively.

But what does Southern Indiana rank?

Might as well flood the zone with reasons to pick HC while the portal is open.

But what does Southern Indiana rank? They didn't pay Niche the fee so they're not listed.😂 Niche may be tops but I've never heard of them.

Of course HC is A+. We know. Unlike some who find every which way to put down our fine college.

Public ratings only serve the interests of those who know little. Those of us from a particular strata need not Niche, USNWR nor any other public ratings service. HC is of the highest quality. I agree with you, but there's a reason BMW advertises a lot. HC is a BMW, but they need to do better with their advertising.

Iona just received a commitment from HS senior Silas Sunday, 7’, 285, from Ireland by way of the Bronx (parents from Nigeria and Poland) No room for a superfluous James.

Odd that this discussion leaves out Rabinovich, who was hurt most of the season. The one game he played some while not injured was BC, where I thought he played pretty well.

Martindale and Rabs will sure have notes to compare at their five year W.A. reunion.
Rabs will have the less complicated answer to the question "Where did you go to college?"

This assumes that Rabinovich does not enter the portal next season Wouldn't it be something if he could get healthy and stay healthy and develop his game at Holy Cross

Rabs has the size. If he can learn the footwork and other nuances of what makes a successful big man and then string together enough healthy games to gain experience he could help HC.
I haven't noticed any mention of which if any of the coaches specializes with the bigs but Louth has developed and Gates has been productive.
Nothing wrong with Rabs and the coaches setting a goal to maximize his game at HC to qualify for a free year of grad school at a good university of his choice. For this four year Covid window, that is an sensible strategy at HC rather than getting frustrated and leaving as an undergraduate.

Wish a PG was making an official visit as well. The bigs always come off the board first.....

Does the board still have a campus spy or two? Wondering how the James visit went. Suppose we'll know soon enough.
