btw, another Bona player has entered the portal. That leaves them, at the moment, exactly one player eligible to return who saw the floor this season. Factory windows are always broken. Even basketball factories it seems.

UB are the Bulls, not Bison. Duly noted. Are they cousins?

Patrick McCaffery says bye to dad (and mom), enters the portal, [b He had 5 years at Iowa but I guess he has another year of eligibility??? Isn’t he dating Caitlyn Clark [not correct-see post below]🕹️? I believe he also plays baseball, loathsome parents for sure, but I don’t know much about him.

He took a red shirt year in 2019-20 He has overcome some health obstacles, first as a youth, last season, an emotional issue. He has one year left. Wonder if he will choose a school near Indianapolis, where Clark is projected to play.

Here’s his quote from the Yale hoops website.
Why Yale? – “Because it truly is the best mix of basketball and education in the world. I had the opportunity to receive an extremely prestigious degree while also playing on a winning team at the highest level of college basketball. Also, the relationship I built with Coach Jones and the coaching staff was real, authentic, and they stuck with me since the first days of my recruiting process.”
Giving up the “best mix” for a few NIL bucks. This is all ridiculous.

He knows his price and he is willing to sell himself to the highest bidder. Unless there is some as yet unknown issue here, I hope he got a good amount for his character.

Charlie Baker, you need to do something, tout de suite. College basketball is a farce.

Charlie Baker, you need to do something, tout de suite. College basketball is a farce. He is mostly a powerless figurehead. The power conferences, particularly the Big 10 and SEC make the decisions.

True, but should they win the tournament, isn't that their goal? They simply got a better return on investment...a good business deal. Of course the whole NIL business sickens me.

Interesting if true. Travis Branham @travisbranham_ Danny Wolfe has a "do not contact" symbol next to his name in the portal, per source. In other words, he probably has a good idea as to where he's heading. Quote Travis Branham @travisbranham_ · 18h NEWS: Yale big man Danny Wolfe has entered the transfer portal, per a @247sportsportal source. All Ivy League selection and a big addition to the portal. One of the top bigs and transfers overall on the market. 4:59 PM · Mar 29, 2024 · 260.4K Views

I think if you're headed to a Duke or Stanford, it makes sense with the NIL available and still a prestigious degree

I think if you're headed to a Duke or Stanford, it makes sense with the NIL available and still a prestigious degree Agreed. But if this becomes a really undesirable trend for the Ivies, they will make some changes and go NIL in my opinion. If they do that, it’s gonna be problematic for us.

Or maybe they'll decide the publicity is not worth chucking their principles for. You'll never know. Wolf would seem to have Duke or Michigan written all over him. Yale was probably better than Stanford was this season.

Wolf is good, not Duke level, probably not Michigan either if they want to be competitive in the new Big 10.

Kinda like how they keep their athletic scholarships, sorry “alumni grants”, undercover.
