What’s up with New Jersey? Princeton up 62-43 over Missouri Farleigh Dickinson St Peters last year!

RW always said that if we had won in 01, 02, or 03, winning the second game would have been easier since that team would have been a worse seed and they would not have time to prepare for our D. Princeton is proving that now

Princeton rains threes on Mizzou in a dominating win. Most impressive performance on the offensive boards. On to the next round in Louisville.

Princeton becomes the fourth 15-seed to make the Sweet Sixteen (St. Peter's, Oral Roberts, FGCU were the others).

That kid Pierce was unbelievable on the offensive boards. Was thinking that, too. They bullied Missouri.

What this shows is that if these power five schools were forced to play legitimate mid majors on neutral courts or, god forbid, on the road, we’d see many more results like this. But, or course, money and greed get in the way.

Too bad that our former coach with a Princeton pedigree did not having HC playing with the same offense strategy and rebounding prowess that we have seen exhibited over the last two days in Sacramento.
I never understood the reason for not crashing the boards after each shot went up. Accidental offense rebounding was never a strategy for success.
Princeton tonight with a total of 44 rebounds including 16 from the O Boards. Mizzou with 30 rebounds with 8 O Boards.
The next coach should talk to Mitch Henderson regarding the new Princeton Offense, not the stale and outdated Princeton Offense.

May be blasphemy around these parts, but IMHO there are too many upsets and not enough high quality play from the top teams in the tournament.
We are on track for the first five teams in the Sweet 16 to be (5) San Diego State, (4) Tennessee, (8) Arkansas, (15) Princeton, (9) Auburn. Yuck.
Eliminate the transfer portal & make the draft rules the same as college baseball, please @charliebaker

Princeton had 16 ORs (42%). Pierce had seven, just one fewer than the entire Missouri team.

Love the upsets…..That’s why the call it March Madness.
For those sanctimonious and pompous windbags pontificating why small schools from lower ranked conferences should not be in the tournament, Hope you are enjoying some humble pie for your dinner this evening.

Bill Raftery just gave HC another shout out. When talking about Bill Russel at San Francisco, he mentioned the game he saw when Russell faced Tommy Heinsohn in the Holiday Festival at MSG.

That kid Pierce was unbelievable on the offensive boards. Caden Pierce comes from quite an athletic family--see the Bio from the Princeton website
Personal: Greg Pierce (dad) played football at Northwestern, Stephanie Pierce (mom) played volleyball at Northwestern … Justin Pierce (brother) played three years of college basketball at William and Mary, graduated in three years and transferred to University of North Carolina for final year and played under Roy Williams, now plays professional basketball overseas … Alec Pierce (Brother) is a wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts and was a second round pick in the 2022 NFL draft who played at University of Cincinnati … majoring in computer science.

Here's a great stat from a poster on the Atlantic 10 board regarding NJ teams:
"Expect the P5 to petition the NCAA to not allow mid-major programs into the Dance. In the last two years St. Peters, FDU and Princeton have 5 tourney wins. In contrast Rutgers and Seton Hall have 2 wins in 18 years."

Kentucky bites the dust once again losing to a Kansas State team. KSU has a few NYC players who will return to MSG for the Sweet 16.
