Kids are on campus starting Sunday for a 4 week session I expect most kids to be there barring those upperclassmen doing an internship.
They do 3 weeks in July. Then report for good around August 7th.
I’ll provide updates as I hear anything.

When do Freshmen report? July or August?
I imagine most are still in HS in June.

Many on June 4th. Those that can’t will get there as soon as they can.

From the webcam, lots of cars parked up near the Luth/Hart at 6:50 PM today. Are most of the players at June 'camp' living on-campus or off? Are there other sports with athletes on campus at this time of year? (One can't see the newish parking lot on the east side of Luth. I assure that's reserved for coaches, staff, etc.)

They are living on campus including those who have lived off campus the last few years. Looks like some of the room assignments will pay dividends in terms of Freshmen "learning" from a positional mentor.

What is the schedule for these guys in June? How many hours per day? Is it mostly weight lifting and conditioning? No pads, I assume? I would be interested in how this works.

There are restrictions on the # of hours the coaches can spend weekly with the players. No pads as that does not happen until August... it consists of lifting, conditioning and positional meetings is my understanding. The players also do things individually like receivers getting together to run routes with the QB's. The strength staff spends the most time with the team as I believe they have unlimited access to the players and considering Grautski is the G.O.A.T that is a really good thing!

My question on whether the team was living on-campus or off, was because the large number of cars at 7 PM by the Luth suggested to me that they were living off-campus. I'll concede that the hike between Williams, Alumni, and Carlin and Luth can be a chore, but between Easy St and Luth? Maybe they drive into Worcester after they've finished their camp sessions.

Only big piece of news that’s been documented by many is Soph Osahon Noruwa is back and looks great. Bulked up 15 lbs and really progressing. DE looks a lot deeper with him there along with Soph’s Ross and Reynolds, then BV of course as the #1. Others like JR Joe Townsend, So John Owens and Frosh Will Robinson will likely provide even more depth and push those first 4.

I’m hearing DL looking solid - Stevenson, George and Caron!

In addition to new arrivals at DL, I’ve also heard OL has some of the best technique for HS kids since this staff has been on the hill. I think this is a reflection of recruiting kids from big-time programs with really good coaches. Beesley (Prosper TX), Janis (Brunswick CT) Woods (Bergen Catholic NJ) among others.
Haven’t heard as much on the DB’s yet but I could see this as a trend as that group also has many frosh from serious HS programs.

I’m hearing DL looking solid - Stevenson, George and Caron! Are you thinking Caron to the DL initially? 05, George had great offers for our level and he and Woods play with guys who get top ten-twenty level offers and get shortchanged in postseason recognition. Janis, at the critical center spot, is another guy that may help early in his 4 years. Thanks for the early peeks.

Dyer and Danolds also likely competing for reps at that spot. Caron played OL primarily in HS and his solo year at ODU but did play some DL in HS as well. Very good athlete for a kid his size.

Another theme I think we will see this year across the DL is much more substitution. Last season, Kuz, Reich and Springer played probably ~70-75% of the snaps in the 3 man base. Without Kuz and Reich’s experience and an extra DT in the rotation, I think we’ll see perhaps 6-8 guys see run this year. Will need to keep guys fresh to let our LB’s run around and make plays.

Could one of the more knowledgeable posters share in general what is going on in June practice. Is it mostly conditioning like running and lifting or more mental like learning offenses and defenses. Technique type things and running plays but no contact. Are the frosh doing things anything different from the returnees? I would appreciate any of your insights. Will July be similar? Thanks

I know it’s lifting, running/agilities, meeting by position as well. And there is throwing between QB and WR. No pads.
4 weeks in June, 3 weeks in July, then camp in August.
Conditioning done with sweatshirts and winter hats often to get their bodies used to heat in camp.
Bodies tested regularly for hydration.

Frosh are with upper class players in all of these. They work out by position groups.
