I looked Pratt up after hc1998 mentioned Layton going there. They are horrible. 5-26 or something like that. Many 30-40 point losses. It is the first, and only, school of its type (I think "art and design") to get a D-III or better designation...to apply overly broad generalizations, on the one hand their typical student probably isn't much of a basketball player...however, on the other hand, they should have the market cornered on art and design basketball players. Austin Butler was a Studio Arts Major. goholycross.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/austin-butler/11417

To ramp up the intensity on the HC side, Mike Vicens should be on the HC bench as an advisor. Need him with a take no prisoners attitude when we go to war next season. Break out the Popcorn when Coach Griffin comes to Worcester.

The Basketball Film Room (HC MBB and HC WBB) is named after Togo. I was in the room when he gave a speech at the dedication in April 2018. As was I! How did I miss you? Not sure how you missed me. Maybe it was the camo outfit I was wearing. 😊 I remember it was a very emotional and well deserved moment for Togo. It is a shame that the players who have been recruited in the last decade do not understand an unselfish commitment that we saw with Togo throughout his life with his loyalty to Alma Mater.

It doesn't say whether they are doing a Hartford or not having sports altogether; can't think of any "no sports" colleges. “Elimination of Athletics The St. Francis College Board of Trustees and Leadership are responding to these challenges by acting decisively with plans in place to benefit the College and the students we serve. Accordingly, the Board of Trustees recently approved a strategic realignment plan which includes the elimination of the College's NCAA Division I athletics program, effective at the conclusion of the Spring 2023 semester. “

Nova’s Maddy Siegrist scored her 1000th point this season yesterday, one of only 5 players to have accomplished that feat. Maddy Siegrist attended the same High School as Coach Maureen Margarity and Patrick Whearty, Our Lady of Lourdes.

Time to hit the road….far and wide…to finalize for the class entering in the fall of 2024. Returning to the NCAA Tournament this year should strengthen HC position in gaining the attention of promising recruits.
Outside of Janie and Simone, will there be another member of the class of 2027 entering in September?

Since I have a daughter who went to Law School at Santa Clara, and now lives in the Pacific Northwest, I follow teams from the WCC. Tonight the Portland Pilots (who school colors are purple) played Oklahoma in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, while watching the game I noticed the number of players on the roster from Australia and New Zealand. A total of 10 out of 16 on the roster. Seems more and more, on both the men’s and women’s teams, international players have a role in US college sports. portlandpilots.com/sports/womens-basketball/rosterHoly Cross, with Callie and Bronagh seem now on the track to recruit beyond the lower 48. Hope that Coach MM can continue to open an international pipeline for skill and talented players who will keep HC at the top of the league and solidly compete in post season play. It was also great to see, the families from both these players attend games either in the Patriot League Tournament or the NCAA Tournament.

Since the 1980 Iona NCAA victory was vacated….HC should now get credit for the win.
I have a HC classmate who taught at Iona, who had tales to tell regarding the lack of academic integrity by Jimmy V and his staff.

Love the upsets…..That’s why the call it March Madness.
For those sanctimonious and pompous windbags pontificating why small schools from lower ranked conferences should not be in the tournament, Hope you are enjoying some humble pie for your dinner this evening.

Too bad that our former coach with a Princeton pedigree did not having HC playing with the same offense strategy and rebounding prowess that we have seen exhibited over the last two days in Sacramento.
I never understood the reason for not crashing the boards after each shot went up. Accidental offense rebounding was never a strategy for success.
Princeton tonight with a total of 44 rebounds including 16 from the O Boards. Mizzou with 30 rebounds with 8 O Boards.
The next coach should talk to Mitch Henderson regarding the new Princeton Offense, not the stale and outdated Princeton Offense.

Coach K from C Newport should be on speed dial by Kit this evening with a congratulatory of his teams performance this afternoon and inviting him back home to Worcester next week. Certainly has the Bona Fides to be the next coach at HC. Get him now!

Mt Union whose colors are traditionally purple and white, wearing black uni’s tonight for the championship game. Wonder if any of their Alums are complaining about their choice. 🤣
I have a friend who contributes to HC as a member of the 1843 Legacy Society at HC who is a Mt. Union grad. Going to give him a call to hear his opinion.

Just goes to show, that the right coach with scholarship support can turn around a program quickly regardless of facilities by the second year or third year. We have seen it in Football, WBB and hopefully tonight with a win for the AHA Championship.
A winning program will provide increase visibility in the community, and will garner the support for a substantial renovation of the rink.

To clarify, my understanding was that he said it would have been a 4 hour trip if the team had been on a Charter flight instead of taking the bus to College Park.
