That miss has to be practiced. All possible players in at the end have to change their mentality to try to miss. I partially agree. A foul shot that is missed on purpose in such a way that it comes back to the shooter is difficult even with extensive practice. A foul shot that is missed on purpose with no requirement for it to come out deep is a lot easier to execute. You simply take your normal shot but aim slightly to the right or left. That said, you have to believe that based on stats, after hitting three in a row CDP had to believe this was a very high chance that a 52% shooter would miss the 4th naturally. Regardless, nice comeback win. Somehow I feel as though, if Nelson had been coaching, that last shot would have banked in! š

Thanks so much for all the info. Congratulations to Coach Curran and the staff on a job well done.
Could someone summarize the final results when you get a chance?
Go Cross!!

Oblique injuries in baseball normally come about as a result of an awkward or powerful swing of the bat.
What I thought I saw of the Octave injury seemed to be the result of contact with the opposing player rather than the baseball extensive "strain" injury.
Perhaps the injury is more of a contusion nature and may heal sooner than we think.

Northeasternās Joe Pridgen who recently left the program has entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer. The 6ā5ā guard started 12/17 games for the Huskies, averaging 8.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. Previously played at Holy Cross, and UNCW. There is something seriously wrong with this guy. Even in these crazy times, this is not normal behavior. It will be interesting to see if he draws any interest. As much as coaches want to win, Iām sure they will weigh what he brings to the court vs the disruption he could potentially cause.

I found the video highlights of the North Oldham game.
Enjoy.
This kid has swagger and can shoot.

I think a guy named Casey did it on the 1963-64 Freshman team. Not true. I was there that night. He had 9 blocks.

I've lost count on how many times Batchelder's man has gone by him.

Batchelder is a big liability on the defensive end - constantly gets beat off the dribble. You are so right. Donāt know how we can hope to play shut down D when he is abused over and over.

Getting better each time out..This team is getting there, just a few plays away from pulling out a win, and Lafeyette is undefeated in the PL... Did HC miss a free throw tonight? I don't remember a miss.. Bo was unstoppable, He is a game changer...Caleb is playing better every night out.. The team D is coming together..Double on Vanderbann each time he put the ball on the floor..I still don't care for defenders going under screens..but it helps defend the pick and roll.. Coach is quick to pull a player who makes a mistake on D, and then talks to them when they come out...ends it with pat on the back.. Still waiting for Nugent to take the ball to the hoop and finish..scoring was pretty well spread out...Laffy plays with confidence..... I agree. But Nugent's foot speed definitely hampers him here. I think we will have to accept that driving past quicker defenders will never be a major part of his game.
He does a nice job hitting open threes and going to the defensive boards.
Those seem to be his strengths at this point in his career.

If Colgate can get Villanova to play a "home and home" in back to back years, Holy Cross needs to work on that and GET IT DONE.

I watched VanderBaan play in their win over Navy. He will be a tough matchup for HC based on his size alone.
He is NOT very athletic at all. He's not quick and normally trails the team down the court. Very poor jumper and not much of a rebounder for a guy with his size.
He does have a nice touch, both around the basket and out to 12 feet (can hit an occasional three). However, he goes almost exclusively to the right and, at least in this game, exhibited no left hand.
He blocks shots based on his size alone.
That said, he is hugely better than Wilbar.
Tough to understand why anyone thought he was an ACC talent. I guess BC considered him a project and, after 2 years, he decided, if he wanted to get floor time, he needed to transfer to a lower conference.

Just watched the Lafayette vs Navy game yesterday. Very impressive win.
Their new head coach, Mike McGarvey, has this team playing tough D and high energy offense.
This will be a tough matchup for HC because they have size, depth and outside shooting talent.
If Massey has us as only a 3 pt underdog (as rgs318 indicates above), I am very surprised. Pomeroy has us as an 8 point underdog, which sounds a bit more realistic.

Good news ā we might have found our PG. I've been feeling that way for several games, Wills to my eyes has a calm and confidence that is rare in freshmen.

We now rank dead last of 362 teams in KenPomās defensive rankings. Not surprising watching the games.
Our defense makes reasonably poor teams look like offensive machines.
I know we're young but this aspect of our game should not be this bad.

Both Brown and Carmody had their pluses and minuses.
Milan was a terrific recruiter who lacked game coaching skills.
Carmody brought in a few good players but quite a few lemons. His game coaching skills were pretty good.
Both were fine gentlemen.
Nelson.....well let's not go there.

Right now they have 1 senior and 1 junior they can count on (one junior period!), and 1 sophomore who has struggled so far to adjust to a new coach/role, and has had to deal with opposing coaches who now know all about his ability to hit 3s in rapid fire fashion. That's 3 guys....not really a shock that the team is struggling like it has. Totally agree.
While many have said that it is "hard to watch" this group play, I will continue to tune in. Why? Not so much to see wins....but to see the progress of the underclassmen in establishing a foundation and a style of play that next year's recruits can add to and build upon.
Hope. That's all we really have to hang our hat on right now.

Wow. HC is 357th in forcing turnovers.
I think this points to the overall lack of quickness of several of the core group of players.

22 players have gotten into a game for Army this year. That must be a very long bench.

If people can keep from jumping out windows or punching out their tv sets and computers, we might be in for some better times. From your lips to God's ears.....because for a quick turnaround this year we will need some divine intervention.

Buddy Venne (Class of 1972) averaged 35 points a game his senior year at Xavier HS in Concord, Mass.
That year he was the leading HS scorer in the State of Massachusetts.

I went to the Hofstra/Charleston game last night and was interested to see Bryce Butler play.
He didn't start but played 27 minutes and led Charleston in scoring with 18 points as they defeated Hofstra 72-61.
Bryce is about the same height as Austin but not quite as broad. He seems to have a very nice game but one that is less physical than Austin's.
He hit 2 of 3 from three point range and 7 for 10 overall. He was clearly the best player on the court last night for Charleston.
