I'm not a techie but I know what works for me.
I have a Roku stick feed on my TV which picks up a signal from my Optimum WiFi. I use the "Lifestream app" and the games come in flawlessly, much like I am watching a game on ESPN.
The most challenging issue is finding the HC feed on Livestream. I find it's best to use its "Search" function, type in Holy Cross, and click on what programs it finds.
I believe all the HC PL games for the rest of the season can be viewed this way.

Twice (that I saw) the defense stop BU and BU got the ball after a scramble and scored. Each was just the way things go on some nights. Just my opinion, but I feel the game was lost at the end of the first half, when instead of maintaining a lead into the half or adding to it, some poor shots and bad ball movement gave BU the halftime lead. Totally agree. When MA (who was cold as ice) took that corner jumper with 7 secs on the game clock I was totally shocked. As he let it go, I shouted "What is he doing???" It cost us the go ahead basket by BU before the half. I'd love to know what Carmody said to him at half. Physical mistakes I can tolerate. Dumb plays like that I find really tough to swallow.

I love the passion of the posters here. I really do. However, everyone better take a few deep breaths and relax a bit because IMO this is going to be a VERY LONG season.
From this point forward I would expect, now that we are in PL play, that we will be well scouted and will see zone defenses close to 100% of the time. If a team goes MTM against us, it most likely will be for only short spurts because we got hot from 3 point range and they want to change the defensive look for a few possessions. In addition, with the zone the PO with its back door cuts will pretty much be nullified.
So think about what that means. We only went 7 deep last night and 3 of the 7 (Ant, Benzan, and JF) are very poor outside shooters. When all 3 are in the game at one time, we only have 2 offensive threats on the court. Not good.
Unless CLS or MZ step up, take some minutes off the shoulders of the starters, and add 7-9 points a game combined, we will be in very tough shape offensively most nights this year.
Bottom line, this club will struggle to get to .500. It's simply too dependent on 3 pt shooting and that is not a winning formula for any team, even those with better shooters than we have.
Looking at the program overall, I am not ready to write off Carmody as a poor recruiter. The 5 kids coming in next year look promising and they will get a boatload of playing time as freshmen. We should know by midseason next year what the next few years will look like...not before.

I would expect that he will see some box and ones too if he keeps up this scoring pace.

How big were the crowds in the old Worc Aud?
If I remember correctly, with the "little theatre" open it only seated about 3,500.
My bet is that the archives would show that even when HC was playing much more of a "big time" schedule in the 60's that they didn't average many more that 2,000-2500 per game.
Am I wrong?
The FB crowds were much better in those days....but not basketball I don't think.

Probably not. I cannot wait for her retirement. I was hoping when Fr B came in, he would usher her out. She's been at HC way too long.

Terrific analysis WorcesterGray.
Now the big question......besides shooting better what else do we need to change?....or is this simply what the team is for this season?

Ok....a real stinker.....we all know that. Let's turn the page.
We have 4 OOC games left before we start the PL season and we need to go 3-1. The URI game looks pretty hopeless. But the other 3 are against teams with losing records and weak RPIs. Two of the three are home games and the road tilt is against SHA who Sagarin rates #323.
So....we have a chance of going into the PL at 6-7 and having regained some momentum.
We just need to SHOOT so much better. So many errors and problems will go away if some of those layups simply go in.
Remember.....a team is never as bad as it looks when it is losing....and we are MUCH BETTER than we looked last night.

Jave was SO 'effen good. I'm getting wistful thinking about the talent on that squad. Damn... Loved Jave's game and always enjoyed his post game interviews with Bob Fouracre.

HC students have "No school spirit", the past few years attendance has been awful. Watch games on tv and see how the other school have better school spirit even if their team stinks. HC is not that unusual. It is an overall mid major problem. I have season tickets to Hofstra and, even with a team that is a CAA conference contender, and a 24 game winner a year ago, they draw less than 100 students of the 10,000+ enrollment to the games. 95% of the crowd are local college basketball fans who just want to see a game.

Nice win. So glad to see.
One negative in my mind is AT is now 7 for 26 or 27% for the year on threes. His freshman year 3 point % is starting to look like the aberration.

It's similar to some coaches starting all the seniors for their last home game.......even if they have not "earned" a starting spot.
That's not soft. That's classy.

Because he is the coach and until we are told differently either does not think they are ready for his system or something else. Let's trust the guy. It has nothing to do with "trust". It is simply a matter of courtesy to let the kids get a minute of garbage time.

Why does Carmody choose not put in the game both Cohen and Stevens with a minute plus to go and a 16 point lead.
I do not understand that. I really don't. Give the kids their first college action.
If I were the parents of either kid, it would be very disappointed.

Looking for Robert Champion to come out of his 4 game funk. He's 28% from the floor. 25% from 3, 50% from the FT line with 6 Assists and 12 Turnovers.
C'mon Robert, we know what you are capable of. First home game would be a good time to get back on track.

Just watched SCS play Syracuse on ESPN archives.
This will not be an easy game for us by any means.
They are quick and athletic and against Syracuse loved to rush the ball up the court.
Their 3 pt shooting % for the first 4 games is only 23% but the competition has been very strong (Wichita St, Syr and USC).
Watch their coach. He reminds me of Milan Brown in that he dresses in a 3 piece suit and is incredibly active on the sideline coaching the defense and clapping hands.
Should be an enjoyable matchup. We'll learn a lot about HC today......

Love the fact that the Herald writeup mentioned the 1-3-1 shutting them down.
This team appears to have limited offensive talent and, if we are going to have a successful season, we're gonna need a shut down D. The 1-3-1 became the identity of this team last year and I'd love to see that happen again.

Wow. I wish I could share in the general optimism of the board.
The D was good at times but the offense will never be an effective one with both Benzan and AT together as the guards for most of the game. We need to develop another shooting guard to pair with them sharing the point. Not sure who that is but without it there's just not enough offense there to win consistently.
Question: When was the last time a team won by 8 pts with 23 turnovers? That's a mind bogling stat.

I think, IIRC, it was actually HC up by 3-0 at the half. The FG by Mike Kaminski was strange. It went through the uprights and then was blown back by the wind. The officials had to confer to se if it was good - only time I have ever seen that happen. HC got the ball to tart the second half. It looked great. Then on the third play, a Syracuse lineman stood up, caught the low pass in two hands and rumbled into the endzone. It was downhill after that as the Orange used their size and numbers to wear HC down. I recall the refs having their conference and then disallowing the field goal much to everyone's consternation And that surprise interception early in the second half was a real downer. After that, the main highlight was watching my then-roommate, substitute lineman, Ray Weaver, sack the Syracuse quarterback. Afterwards, he explained that he'd grabbed him by the pads and pulled him down. Another point about that Syracuse game was that it drew a crowd. When we tried to sit in the usual student section, we were redirected to less-desirable seats closer to the end zone. Our normal seats had gone to the ticket-buying public. I remember it well and the FG was ruled "no good". I think I also remember a play at midfield going with HC going towards the baseball field where Jack Lentz pitched out to a HB named (I think) Lawson. Lawson rolled right and then stopped after about five long strides and looked back down the other side of the field. After pitching out, Lentz went out for a pass down the other sideline near the HC bench and he was WIDE OPEN......I mean there was no Syracuse defender within 20 yards of him. However Lawson just slightly overthrew the pass and it went off Lentz's fingers to a large groan from the crowd, A yard closer to Jack and it would have been one of the finest memories in this Crusader's FB memory.

Carm's style of play is MUCH better suited to the PL, and winning the PL is the ONLY way HC gets to the NCAA's. That is the goal, and it was accomplished in year one. Well said. I agree about 98%. The only thing that bothers me is that 40 pt losses kill our RPI if we win the PL and stick us with a 1 or 2 seed in the first round.

Crushed by Fordham in FB
Destroyed by South Carolina.
And then this thrashing tonight.
Not fun watch.

Batten the hatches! They will zone us with all that height. Ouch. This game really scares me. They are so long and athletic with a center with a 7'8" wingspan. Gonna be tough for our guards to get off shots and many of our backdoor drives might not reach the rim. Hoping for the best but not optimistic.
