By the way, are the girls going too? They're in that photo. Or is it some generic basketball thank you photo? Good question, was thinking the same thing. But then the seniors will not be on the trip, and I think that photo was taken very early in the season

Should we pretend to be Jasper alumni to take advantage? Exclusive of parents, how many HC fans will attend? 20? Every few years the alumni association runs a sightseeing trip there. I believe this was the case under the previous alumni director, but was changed when he retired. As far as I know, there's been one HC alumni trip to Ireland in the last 6-7 years.

As far as I know, there's been one HC alumni trip to Ireland in the last 6-7 years. I haven't paid close attention, but the alumni run a trip basically every year. For a while, Ireland was every 2nd or 3rd trip. I would not be surprised if they saturated demand and backed it off in the rotation a bit. Trips were very regular under the the current alumni director (Dyer), however the prior one (McCarthy), even though he was retired, usually went on the Ireland trips and added a lot of personal expertise, so it might have seemed like it was still during his tenure

Should we pretend to be Jasper alumni to take advantage? Exclusive of parents, how many HC fans will attend? 20? Tough call. Lots of HC people have Irish roots. Every few years the alumni association runs a sightseeing trip there. While there are probably lots who have been to Ireland, I would guess a small fration have been up north. Not sure what fun stuff is in the area other than Giant's Causeway, but you might be surprised at HC people who want to see Northern Ireland Also Of interest in the north: the Antrim coast, Derry city, the Titanic museum in Belfast

Been surfing web trying to make this trip work. Apparently, the tour does not include a trip out of BDL, must use EWR or BOS. I don't want to travel to Boston or Newark, then fly to Dublin, then spent a few hours on a bus to Belfast. Icelandair may work. Fly out of JFK to Iceland, hour layover, then nonstop to Belfast City airport. Can even layover a day or two in Reykjavik . Went there last April - terrific city! Airline top notch too!

Should be obvious to any Crossporter, because "we are not in the entertainment business."

The likely reason HC is not promoting a trip is that our trusty sales and marketing team realizes that other than lou and sader81 only a couple others would be interested. HC doesn't travel well. I'll count purple jersies (non-family) at the NCAA baseball regional site.

Booked my flight today out of BDL to DUB; arriving on 11-30 on Aer Lingus. Kind of confusing putting this together - Aer Lingus only deals with flights - Chaka travel does the tour and hotel, as per link by ACTP. Called Chaka in NIre, and was told that a travel agent in the states will be utilized to put the rest together. Hotel is near the action in Belfast, and close to the arena. May just book the hotel on a hotel web site and get tix on my own. Need to get travel to DUB to Belfast and return on my own, but was told by Chaka that is no problem. Think it will all work out, but I think it was a logistical nightmare for the travel agent, as people coming from BOS, NYC, PHL, and DC with different itineraries, and not a lot of fans. Looking forward to it, despite the aggrevation!

Make sure you take the time to see the Titanic Museum in Belfast. If you have a chance in Dublin, see Kilmainham Gaol--very powerful, esp if you know Irish history in 1916.

We happened to get into an elevator at the reunion and were joined in the Hogan Center by Jehyve Floyd and Patrick Benzan. My wife asked JF if he was on the basketball team and he smiled and said yes. Patrick then said, "I'm on the team too." Her "diplomatic" reply? "You're kidding, aren't you?" I said both of them played varsity ball for HC and that she would see a lot of them in the coming year. (I hope that covered a bit of her "slip up.") Now she will get to see them in person!

From a letter Fr. B. sent while on his present travels in Spain, he indicated he will be at the tournament.

OK, Phreek, if you got Fr. B's letter, you are at least a member of the PC. But fess up, without identifying yourself, is your name carved on the Cornerstone Society "monument?"
