Princeton - ND very good game now. I know Princeton has more talent than HC, but their version of the PO looks nothing like ours. very few possessions taking it down to the last seconds on the shot clock. this is what the princeton offense looks like when you have players that can shoot the ball, five players on the floor who cut with purpose, and a good point guard who can create within the offense effectively. carmody, who coached the princeton coach, has had none of these dimensions yet at holy cross... but he will have more of the pieces next year!

And Mackenzie has a low turnover pct for the year. Both his turnovers today came when he was the only ball handler on the floor. Davis hasn't used that alignment again for good reason. The West Virginia press is extremely good to say the least.

bucknell lost, but they gave a respectable effort and will be a force next year. deep, very talented, and well-coached.

Great game by Bucknell. Will be better next year while we rebuild.

Kudos to Nathan Davis for coming up with a game-specific strategy that would give his team a chance to win against a team with much more raw talent, size, and athleticism. In watching his press conference yesterday, he and his staff had clearly done their homework in scouting WVU and finding areas where they could create opportunities.
WVU would have run us right out of the building, like Oregon did last year, after that first half run to go up around 13-15 very early.
Very impressive performance from Bucknell.
If Nathan Davis can recruit, HC is in trouble.

Final 86-80. WVU over Bucknell. Bison played a much more than respectable game representing the PL against a very strong Mountaineer team. Make a few more of those missed, close in shots by Bucknell, and the final result could have been different.

Especially admired Stephen Brown's work today at both ends for the Bison - hope CG (whose offensive approach looks very similar) can develop into this kind of point, one who can both facilitate and score in bunches.

What a gritty, gutsy performance by the Bison - hats off to them.
What other PL team will step up to challenge them next year?

By the way, comparing a veteran Princeton team, totally built by their coach, with this years HC team makes no sense to me. I'll check back in 2 years for a comparison (also will make no sense to compare next year, when almost 50% of the roster will be freshmen).
In the meantime, I'll continue to be grateful for the guys that gave us something Kempton, Price, Fanning, and Alston and other PL seniors could not deliver for their fans.

Bucknell stacked for next year. Will be tough to see anyone toppling them. They don't rebuild, they reload. We have been rebuilding since 2008

Not an upset at all but where they have come from....wow! Now they get the Zags. So who would we blame if one of our kids fouled someone up 1 with 14 seconds left (and the other guys in the bonus)? The coach or the player? NW got a little lucky there.

The coach or the player? NW got a little lucky there. They had no timeouts from the 7 minute mark. Vandy just went ahead by 1, but kid still thought they were behind and fouled. NW made both to win it
