And 'Nova goes down to the Badgers. Didn't think Wisconsin, with foul trouble, could do it.

The league was devastated by those 2 injuries for two of their best teams--not overrated, at least not for most of the season

In 5 years the Big East will be closer to the A10 than the ACC in talent

NAD The NIT began last week ! And Syracuse is out. Lost to Ole Miss. Drew 15,000 total (5 and 10) for their two games.

I've personally been surprised at how high a level the Big East has recruited at since separating to non-football schools.

The Thursday thru Sunday games were right up there on my top sports must watch list, but pretty much conceding now that the big boys have won . One win is a moral victory for 20 conference teams in a tourney where it takes 6 to win it all. Why don't they just blow up this sham and make it a 32 team tourney with 4 teams from each of the top 6 leagues , 2 teams from each of the the next top 2 leagues and 4 at large for the Gonzagas and Wichita States of the world. Downgrade the rest to a FCS type tourney . Every year it gets harder for mid majors to get a fair chance with every thing stacked against them that we might as well cry uncle and renounce this madness. Good day and on to the Red Sox. It's still more worth it for the little guys to play a game or two in a tournament that they can't win. Just is. Don't think FCS would garner any more interest than D2 or D3* does, which isn't much. My solution: Have it go another week. First weekend go from 128 to 64. Make it regional to reduce travel, and reseed the 64 that are left. But it will never happen. * Go Babson! Could have been an all-Mass final, but Williams lost to Augustana (remember Ken Anderson, qb for the Bengals) last night.

Who knows what the tv dollar figure will be in 8 years? Or, better still, whether these networks will lose their collective shirts by then.
Same for football....can some of these schools survive without as much cash available?

Ok 10 years Or after Fox contract expires😀 I could see this, I don't expect them to get nearly as good of a deal as they did last time. Just look at what C-USA and other conferences got. In addition, college football is only getting more and more popular relative to college basketball. I think cable is trending to only premium content (B1G and SEC) and everything else is fat that will get cut.

The league was devastated by those 2 injuries for two of their best teams--not overrated, at least not for most of the season No doubt that Creighton and Xavier were devastated by the injuries. It however greatly benefited SH, Marquette, and PC as they were able to get very highly rated wins against teams that were without key players. Many of the top 50 wins these three schools had were over X and CU. This helped get them into the NCAA tournament.

I mean this idea is kinda true but Providence and Seton Hall were very close games that could have gone either way, it looked like they belonged relative to the teams they played. South Carolina, on the other hand, ran Marquette off the court in the second half. Creighton, frankly, wasn't a tournament quality team without Watson.

ACC and Big East officials are much stronger than the refs not from those conferences that work the tourney.

Hard to believe everyone on the bench saw the violation but not a single ref saw it. No excuse for getting the T however

Gonzaga, probably Xavier and and maybe Butler into the Sweet 16 tonight....programs we were well ahead of before we didn't join the Big East and decided to play before 50 people at Colgate.
Yeah....great decision.
