was the ball given to WVU as the alternate possession ? I believe the "ruling" was that it was an inadvertent whistle with possession going back to the team that had control of the ball -- WVa, who had successfully saved the ball from going out of bounds. I don't remember hearing anything about alternate possession, but the announcers were pretty confused -- Chris Weber is AWFUL.

If the point is that some of these schools aren't your usual contendahs, this guy is off on Florida and Wisconsin...both have been major players in college basketball this century, including Final Four appearances and championships

with Vitale and Dakich, made for the mute button While Dakich's personality may not be for everyone, IMO he is one of the (very) few announcers out there right now who can actually break down a game in real time and give some insight into what's going on. I don't think a broadcasting crew in recent history (post-Al McGuire?) has come close to matching what Sean McDonough, Bill Raftery, and Jay Bilas had in the (real) Big East. With all the crap out there right now, I actually think Dakich is one of the top guys in today's game (if you can get past his over-the-top personality).

He's insufferable, but Gottlieb is a good color guy, IMO.

Dakich's arrogant, non-stop talk does not allow the play by play guy to speak/ala Vitale.

The officials screwed that up big time. Should have been Gonzaga's ball.

JRGNYR- In the early 60's at HC I never remember hearing a word about "men & women for others." When did that start?

The best TV bball analyst I ever heard was the Cooz. Nobody out there today even compares. They're not analysts. They're really just "color" guys.

The NBE is a shell of what the league used to be. Sure Nova won last year and Xavier is in the Elite 8 this year, but the rivalries and excitement over the course of the entire conference season have all but disappeared completely, and the tournament at MSG isn't even remotely close to the same level where it used to be.

Was this an automated robot response directly from your KenPom dashboard? I don't think you actually believe the NBE generates close to the excitement that the BE generated?

Facts suck, don't they, Caro?
Yeah, the BE got more attention with Syracuse, Louisville, Pittsburgh, UConn, etc. in it. But, that doesn't mean the ten teams in the league aren't good on a national level, despite their games being relegated to FS1.

JRGNYR- In the early 60's at HC I never remember hearing a word about "men & women for others." When did that start? Father Pedro Arrupe, Superior General of the Society of Jesus in an address to the "Tenth International Congress of Jesuit Alumni of Europe," in Valencia, Spain, on July 31, 1973 In 1989 Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, S.J. Superior General, Society of Jesus in addresses at Georgetown University said So it's not just a Holy Cross initiative. All Jesuit schools were/are responding to reflect that purpose in their mission, objectives and actions.

The highest rated NBE Championship (Seton Hall-Nova last year) was ~40% lower than the worst rating from 2008-2013. Those darn facts...

8485- Thanks. It's interesting to note that a cleric in Europe determines the core mission of Holy Cross College. Can you say (shhhh whisper) seminary?
