8-2 Crusaders heading to bottom of the 8th. Could have sworn announcers said early in the game that the twin bill would be 7 inning games.

Obviously, as we go to the top of the 9th but, again, I thought 7 innings are what the announcers said and thought perhaps an agreement due to weather concerns. Whatever . . . . let's get the next 3 outs and then win the "nightcap."

Escobar in 9th

Army has runners on 1st and 3rd. Escobar looking poorly with throws in the dirt allowing runner to advance from 1st to 2nd to 3rd and then walks the next batter. C'mon, let's close it out! 6 run lead, throw it in there.

Whatever . . . . let's get the next 3 outs and then win the "nightcap." If the announcers said that, they obviously hadn't done any homework. All playoff games are 9 innings per the PL bylaws and cannot be changed regardless of weather concerns.

Escobar gone, Capen coming in. Escobar did get a K but now 2nd and 3rd with 1 out.
As for innings, I will chalk this up to a phantom memory.

Crusaders win 8-2. Nice double play after Capen walks the bases full, 2nd baseman catches a liner and tosses to SS for DP. Game over.

Bucknell v Navy 0-0 in 6th

With runners on 1st and 2nd and 2 outs, our runner gets picked off at 2nd for the third out in a most horrendously wrong call I think I have ever seen.
Throw came from the catcher, not a pitcher pick off.

Bucknell v Navy 0-0 in 6th Final Bucknell 4 Navy 1. Connor Van Hoose went the distance, allowing only three baserunners. Faced 29 batters in total. Had a perfect game into the 6th.

Schilck homer makes it 1-1 - now bottom of the 6th. maybe they get this game although the radar shows the rain closing in on worcester. question: if one team is leading with fewer than 9 innings played, and the game is called due to rain, is that a complete game, or do they resume tmro from the same place in the game ? I seem to remember they play all playoff games to 9 innings regardless
