Kyle Foreman leaves BU for personal reasons. Tough loss for BU. He started most of their games his first two seasons and was a pretty good player. Hope he's okay.

Doesn't want to play anymore but will continue studies at bu.
What about the kids who were suspended last year?

So is this the reason he is not returning...
Foreman leaving also means that Andrew Petcash, a 6-foot-4-inch guard from Pittsburgh, Penn., will join the team as a freshman, according to Boston University Athletics.

Foreman is a good PG who started both years. Petcash is a question mark who had offers only from Army, Navy, and St. Francis - all of which were off the table - and was going to do a post-grad year. Unlikely he will be as good in two years as Foreman was this past year.

Petcash was added as a response to Foreman leaving, not the other way around. I don't expect for Petcash to have a huge roll on the team going forward and he likely projects as a 9-13 scholarship player for the team, at least for the next 2-3 years.

Eric Johnson will likely be the starting 1 and Cedric Hankerson will be the starting 2 but could also help out at the 1 at times (he did 2 years ago). After that, Cheddi Mosely projects ahead of Petcash at the 1 and 2. Destin Barnes will likely split time at the 2 and 3, ahead of Petcash at the 2. Will Goff, who got some decent minutes last year after Barnes and Mosley were suspended, probably also gets minutes over Petcash at the 2, and maybe the 1. Lastly Javante McCoy is a more heralded guard coming in who might play anything from the 1 to the 3. Petcash could surprise, but that is more likely his second year after Hankerson, Mosely, Goff and Johnson graduate following this season. If anyone is curious Magestic Mapp, who sometimes posts here, did a good write up of Petcash (and all of our incoming recruits) on the Basketballforum Patriot League page and 2017 recruiting thread. Basically his summation, which I agree with, is that Petcash might be too limited athletically right now to make an immediate impact for us.

...think he might match up against Butler this year? Andrew Petcash and Austin Butler might match up on the college hardwood, while 2019s Daniel Petcash and Bryce Butler almost surely will on high school courts near Pittsburgh. Holy Cross has expressed interest in both younger brothers

Holy Cross has expressed interest in both younger brothers Likely will see each other at some point - AAU or pickup games - but their respective high schools are 55 miles apart and not in the same league. They sometimes meet in an early OOC game but did not last year. Obviously could meet in States.

Matic's transfer was announced seven months ago - not news. See page 1 of this thread.

AU chases another. Matic is gone. Yes, no idea why that showed up on VC this week. He's been gone since March. Like all the other transfers with the exception of Delante, we'd recruited someone that would likely have taken his minutes anyway this season.

Whack proctor and the Neb kid would make us a much stronger team than we have. But you know that.

If your favorite coach was still here, the MBB program would still be in shambles. But you won't admit that.

Whack in particular would improve the team considering he is 27 years old and playing pro ball for his fourth season - this one in Iceland.

4 pro seasons? We need more recruits like that. There are very few decent NCAA players who can't play four or more seasons overseas if they are willing to play in the third tier leagues for almost no money. He has played in Iceland and the weak Canadian league. Almost certainly making less money than most recent college grads from decent schools.

Whack proctor and the Neb kid would make us a much stronger team than we have. But you know that. Perhaps. HC also would have been a much stronger team if they had Lonzo Ball and Jayson Tatum. Sadly they chose other schools and also chose to drop out after one year. Proctor and Hahn, chose to go somewhere else. HC would have been a much stronger team in the late 60's if Alcindor had come? We can play this game all day. Also, the final chapter hasn't been written in any of the four careers in question. Comparing freshman years, Charles had a much better freshman year than Hahn. Proctor had a somewhat better year than Zignorski. Reasonable arguments can be made on both sides of that discussion I probably posted basically the same thing a couple of years ago in response to a similar post. As I said, one could make an argument that Hahn/Proctor would be a better combo than Charles/Zignorski, but in my opinion Carmody/Charles/Zignorski blows away Brown/Hahn/Proctor. If Hahn and Proctor were the price of a coach upgrade, it was worth it. The old plan wasn't working, it was a time for a change. Based on past results, I think HC maxes out at one post season win in 2016 - certainly not 5. Also let's not forget that there's no promise Hahn and Proctor would be here without a coaching change. Hahn was unhappy. He and Coach Brown were very tight and Coach Brown might have gotten him to stay, but maybe not too. We'll never know. Proctor left Iona after one year. In 13 months he de-committed from two different schools. Tough to assume this kid would be anywhere for the long haul
