The uniforms were fine, but very surprised noone knew that the numbers could not be read any further back than the sidelines. It seemed the PA announcer frequently was unable to identify who made the tackle. We couldn't identify players all afternoon
Terrific win, and terrific weekend of golf, basketball stories, Luth is gourgeous, basketball team looks amazing, and the bookstore, as always, has some fabulous gear

This may have been said before but Peter is the best quarterback in the Patriot League by far. We've had improvements across the board but without Peter we wouldn't be as dominant as we've been this year Was it Sarasota that was adamant about Peter not returning?

Geez, with videos like this, I might have to re-consider not having a twitter account . . . . but then again, you guys can post them for me.
I love that these guys are all articulate but I guess we should expect that because we only have true student-athletes, a theme brought home at the Ring of Honor ceremonies going back to Eddie Anderson's days noted by both his own reps and Denny Golden.

As some of us pointed out after their squeaker over Maine, UNH is not last year's UNH. They'll have to play very well to beat URI and their outstanding QB (Tyler Harris) next week and over their heads to beat an underrated and talented Stony Brook in three weeks. Note: URI beat Harvard and SBU demolished Sacred Heart this week. HC looks to be the class of a fairly weak PL at this point. Any CAA victory is cause for celebration and indicates a shot at PL championship.

I agree, but he has yet to have a full game close to his potential. He appear at times to be still getting into game shape. His leadership is now in TOP FORM without a doubt. I think that 21-39 for 367 and 5 TDs with no interceptions plus a crushing block on a TD reverse against a highly touted defense is close to or at his potential. It seems to me he is in TOP FORM. Perhaps, but what if he can do even better? I think he may still have more in him that he has yet to tap.

Terrific that we have such depth at the WR position, that even without Dinicola, we still have many quality receivers, such as Harton and Dorsey, for PP to hit. Harton played a fair amount as a soph, but not last season.

Another key area of big improvement-- we had only two penalties to their nine.

We should sweep the three PL weekly awards this week -- Pujals, McBeath, Wells.

We have many impressive statistics this year, but this one is by far my favorite: our defense is limiting the opposition to 11 for 45 on 3rd downs (24%). UNH was 3 for 17 today.

Not many would believe at the start of the season that Bucknell's D would give us far more problems than UNH's, but that we would win both.

Congratulations to CTG, his staff and the team for an outstanding game today! UNH may not be what they were the last couple of years but beating them in all phases of the game and by that score is certainly an impressive win!
Throughout the game I felt like it was the "visitors" who were beating "us" so badly, having seen that movie so often over the years! And, even being up by 3 or 4 scores somehow felt it was not going to be enough to pull out the "W"!
If we can keep playing this way consistently, we may have something special taking shape before our eyes!
Beat Dartmouth!!!
(BTW - I do not like the new uniforms! But, hell if we win with them, I just might have to reconsider! )

Some additional tidbits
No fumbles today, plus only two penalties as HC hoops noted above, certainly gives a team a big advantage
Freshman Tenio Ayeni made his first two career receptions today with hopefully many more to follow
Freshman Jackson McLarty became the first freshman to score when he kicked an extra point
All three running backs---Alexander, Guild, Walker---averaged more than 4 yards per carry

I'm still bummed that we didn't win 51-19. I can't believe we gave up that long td run late in the 4th.

It's all good. Selfishly, i'd like to come with a crew, but can't on a Saturday afternoon. And those of us with very young kids can't be there at bedtime CMo, so afternoon game means I can be there with 3 others, so I'm a wash with you. Nah, you would have gotten a sitter and we all would have been there. 😃

Great win, great day, weekend! Team looked confident and aggressive throughout, and totally took it to the Wildcats! Thought PP's block had a chance to make Sportcenter's top 10, thanks for posting the clip Breezy! Avoiding a letdown next week up in Hanover will be key.
Not my favorite viewing conditions, with the sauna like humidity.....don't know how they handle it in the deep South; guess they get used to it. Give me sunshine with crisp Autumn air.
Combined with the hoop pickup, Luth tour and this great game, felt a lotta Juice in the air yesterday! Go Cross Go!

Congrats Crusaders you were the better team today! Congrats on the upset win you deserve it! Make some noise in the PL and get back to the playoffs maybe we shall meet again! Should I expect Gilmore to get a five year extension on Monday : ) Unhfan, you are one of the classiest visiting posters we have on Crossports, and I for one appreciate your posts. I hope your Cats get it back together and take the CAA. Love the little rivalry we have going in football and hoops.....and maybe someday hockey as well. Look forward to your future posts on this board.

Enter September 16, 2017 into the Holy Cross annals under Near Perfection.
The Hogan Ballroom was filled with 150+ Crusaders to witness the pride and emotion on display by Denny Golden '63, Dave Murphy '90, and Jerry Anderson (son of Doc Anderson) and Mark Anderson (grandson) upon their induction to the Ring of Honor. If you have never attended one of these receptions, they are truly special. Denny Golden's remarks and walk down memory lane was outstanding. A true Crusader and man of Christ and very happy to share that testimony.
Having the likes of Pete Kimener, Joe Wilson, Gordie Lockbaum, Pat McCarthy, and a host of Crusaders whom I had not previously met but came in from far and wide to celebrate this special occasion added to the day.
The game day delivery by everybody connected with the program is incredibly professional. Fitton Field has never looked so good.
The Crusaders pitched a near perfect game. While UNH was controlling the first ten minutes of the action, clearly the Cross made some adjustments and turned the heat up in the trenches beyond the very sultry conditions that made for a true character challenge for both teams. Our Crusaders more than passed that test. The tightness and bond within this 2017 team is patently obvious and a pleasure to witness in their performance on the field and engagement off the field. Credit to all involved (CTG, the staff, players, and Athletic Dept.) in forming this chemistry and promoting/advancing this culture.
While yesterday was near perfect, three games does not a season a make.
We're on to Dartmouth.

One of my favorite quotes in some time: "That was total execution by Holy Cross,” UNH coach Sean McDonnell said, “from start to finish, from top to bottom. They beat us every which way but loose. We knew they were a good football team. Peter played a good game, and they made plays around him. Their defense swarmed the football, and we couldn’t execute anything. It’s very disappointing.”
