Has to be Gilmore's best win...I heard on the stream we beat a ranked Lehigh way back in the 2005 or something but this one is bettah imo. Probably the best win since the Duffner-era....wish we played BC this year with Pujals. If I remember remember correctly, that Lehigh game was very low scoring in awful weather conditions (monsoon). There was nothing flukey about today's win. Total domination and stellar play from the defense for the third consecutive week We beat Lehigh at Lehigh when they were ranked number 6 I believe -- Terrible conditions, the field was a complete mud pit. Steve Silva returned a punt for a touchdown and then we won the game with a 40 yard toss up to Sean Gruber in the endzone. I still think my favorite win was at Lafayette in '06 with our come from behind victory and first win at Lafayette in something like 10 years.

Lehigh was ranked #10 and the field conditions were awful for both teams and was highlight of Gilmore's HC career. Beating UNH is even better with no weather or field conditions to come into issue, just tough, good football. Extremely well played by all of the HC teams and our coaching staff deserves kudos !! I think the new staff has made huge strides in improving the HC players and getting them ready. The defense is swarming to the ball and our tackling has improved dramatically over the past. The hitting is very obvious by our defenders and the offensive blocking is crisper to improve the run game. This team is a pleasure to watch and I believe will only get better......HC facilities are fantastic for a school our size and will continue to help in recruiting the finest student athletes available. I hope the coaching staff puts together a disc of the Luth Center and send it to all high school coaches showing the improvements to our football program in New England and key areas where we recruit. Now is the time to build upon our success and excellent facilities to expand our recruiting effort..... Dartmouth will be a good challenge this Saturday, hope to see a lot of Purple at the game !

Recall just a couple of weeks ago when an assistant coach was quoted that the defense would be "flying" around the field, a number of posters had a mocking attitude about the comment. In truth, the defense is playing appreciably better and putting the offense into good field position and while there are still a few missed tackles, we are seeing a lot of gang tackling and even some sure open field, one-on-one tackles. They truly are "flying" around the field.
Linebackers McBeath and Brady have been outstanding with 34 and 32 tackles respectively in the 3 games and we have 7 fumble recoveries to only 3 for the opponents. That is huge.
Interesting factoid: in the 3 2nd quarters so far, Holy Cross has scored 33 points and we have given up zero points.

Does anyone have a link to re-watch the entire game? 8485?! Live game archive Replay is now available on the Stadium app for the iPhone. The replay does not work on the app for the ipad. Maybe tomorrow. 🤔

From the same article, thoughts and prayers to the Harvard CB Abercrombie who was hurt badly in the URI game and remains in a RI hospital.

I remember that 2005 game against Lehigh very well. It was pouring rain, the field had puddles of standing water at several places, Lehigh had several fumbles and players were literally water-skiing at times. My wife was a real trooper sitting through the first half and we decided to leave and listen to the rest of the game on the radio as we drove back to New Jersey. As I recall, we scored the winning touchdown on a pass into the end zone, and the radio announcer first stated it was a Lehigh interception and then corrected himself to say it was a Holy Cross touchdown. In reading descriptions of the game the next day, I have the impression that the Lehigh defender did in fact catch the pass (or perhaps both players had a piece of the ball), but the Holy Cross receiver wrestled it out of his arms as they were both standing in the end zone.
