Will there be a committee to interview coaching candidates or will it be only NP and Father Burroughs?

Hofstra is a.great example of a school that, despite putting several players in the NFL, decided to drop football. The feeling was at the time that they would use those funds to launch their basketball and lacrosse programs into national prominence. Never happened. They are stuck in the competitive but faceless CAA conference for hoops and they draw flies into a 5500 seat arena for their games. I know. I have had season tickets for over 10 years. Ironically their last sellout was against Holy Cross in the ESPN Bracketbuster game in 2007.
"In the long run," Rabinowitz said, "we can touch and improve the lives of more students by investing in new and enhanced academic initiatives and increasing funds for need-based scholarships."
These are, indeed, interesting words. www.gohofstra.com/news/2009/12/3/HOFSTRA_TO_END_INTERCOLLEGIATE_FOOTBALL_PROGRAM_TO_INVEST_IN_ACADEMIC_INITIATIVES.aspx?mobile=skip
www.hark.com/clips/vsmsbrsbvt-watch-a-kid-do-an-experiment1. The Program (1993) Chairman (Dan Hannafin): This is not a football vocational school. It's an institute for higher learning. Coach Winters (James Caan): Yeah, but when was the last time 80,000 people showed up to watch a kid do a damn chemistry experiment? Why don't you stick the bow-tie up your ass?

To those floating the idea that Holy Cross would ever seriously consider trying to play FBS football -- there is a better chance of us getting invited to the Big East effective this season. Below is a list of schools that have made the jump from FCS to FBS in the last 20 years, I wonder how well we fit with the schools on this list. At least there are two in New England.
Old Dominion Appalachian State Marshall Georgia Southern Charlotte Georgia State Liberty UT-San Antonio Texas State Troy Florida Atlantic Florida International South Florida UConn UMass Buffalo Middle Tennessee Western Kentucky Boise State Idaho (only school to commit to dropping back down from FBS to FCS since the Ivy's did it) Coastal Carolina UL-Monroe South Alabama
