571 on hand on a Saturday in what's supposed to be a rivalry game. At a school with something like 20,000 students. Sad for the league, That's on BU, not the league. BU has always been an atrocious athletic program with no support, regardless of its league affiliation at any given time. Exhibit A is a school of that size having to throw the towel in on its football program. southernsader won't read this, more's the pity....BU is BU, they only care about hockey...point of fact, if you throw Bucknell out of the equation, the PL doesn't draw more fans than most D2 or D3 programs....sad, but nobody cares

I can attest to Gene Doyle being a shot blocker but we don't have blocked shots stats for him or Tom Heinsohn sign or some other greats. However to date in this discussion we have not yet mentioned the most prolific shot blocker of the stats era 3.2 per 40 minutes by ?? 3.0 Tim Clifford 2.9 Josh Sankes 2.8 Jehyve Floyd Malcolm?

A most satisfying win! Congratulations to all the team! There’s no telling what this team might do. Is there any doubt that CN is our best rebounder?

Obviously those wise decisions are institution -specific and are not the reasons why both those nearby institutions that once had inferior academic reputations/admissions to HC now have superior academic reputations/admissions to HC. Among prospective students and current rankings, that is.

Malcolm had a lot of blocks, standing #3 on the career list, but he played a lot of minutes. His "blocks/40 minutes" finished at 2.0. #1 on the list as most frequent blocker is Eric Obeyesekere. He is #6 in total blocks with 123, but he averaged only 17 MPG of court time. He was an excellent rebounder as well

Weather WAS a factor for the Navy game. I missed my second game in the last 30 years or so.
For those who insist this is a PL issue, you really should take 5-10 minutes to check out replays of non power conference games on ESPN3. Lots and lots of season tickets apparently sold to "Mr. EmptySeat".

There are quite a few posters you can count on seeing at most games (DiMarz and HCFC45 come to mind but there are definitely others). However, I don’t know if anyone can match Dave’s 30-year attendance record.

Clearly #1and I’m not sure who’s competing for the distant #2 place.... Lou is in contention for that distant #2 Lou may well win the award for most miles traveled in support of HC basketball. He’s all over the place and does not have a short ride to HC or anywhere else except maybe West Point.

Lou is in contention for that distant #2 Lou may well win the award for most miles traveled in support of HC basketball. He’s all over the place and does not have a short ride to HC or anywhere else except maybe West Point. Lou's vehicle knows the route so well that on game days at Holy Cross, all he has to do start the engine, put it in cruise control, lean back, take a three hour nap, arrive at the game well rested and use the same routine for the return trip! !

They don't fit the profile of a PL school and the only team anyone follows there is hockey, not a PL sport. Sure lax is decent and their Olympic sports are probably among the best in our league but I wouldn't have admitted them unless they brought back football. Nickerson Field a historic venue, site of the old Braves Field -- shame its only used for lax and soccer now.

I wasn't around for the Igor days but Dave gets plaudits for his consistent, positive and enthusiastic support for Holy Cross for the 19 years I've been back in the area. I was shocked, SHOCKED, that he missed the Navy game! But I've also seen him come to the Hart Center when he was under the weather and other lesser souls (like me) would have stayed home and watched on the internet or CBSSports.
So, Dave, for Holy Cross fan of the century, it's "you, you, you . . . . ON YOU!"

And lose Tom Brady and the Pats probably are a mediocre NFL team, right? Not as long as they still have Belichick and his system. Belichick lined up a replacement for Brady who is now the highest paid QB in the NFL. Wow he gets paid a lot? He must be excellent!

There may have been adverse Worcester February weather FWIW. Interestingly, BU is often cited as Exhibit A in arguing that tossing an expensive D-1 football program might actually be a smart move. Northeastern is sometimes cited as Exhibit B in that discussion. Obviously those wise decisions are institution -specific and are not the reasons why both those nearby institutions that once had inferior academic reputations/admissions to HC now have superior academic reputations/admissions to HC. Among prospective students and current rankings, that is. Can’t help yourself from continuing to post the same thing over and over and over and over, huh? You must be a prospective student to know this right? Otherwise it’d just be your normal speculation. BTW, has HC beaten out HYP for football recruits lately? Believe you said something about them having no shot.

I haven't seen anybody post that only the PL has 'poor attendance', I certainly have seen a few posters note that some PL games (most recently yesterday's at BU and my own observation about the weather-related prior HC game) seem particularly poorly attended (each well under 1K even by official count).

That is not news.
