Interesting to note that they show the DCU as a neutral site.
I noticed that as well and thought it was odd. The DCU Center is probably two miles from the Holy Cross campus and has hosted several Crusader games over the years. URI is some 70 miles away and has never played a game there. Before the Ryan Center opened, Rhode Island used to play many games at the Providence Civic Center which was about 30 miles from its campus. These were considered home games, even versus Providence College (which played all its home games there) every other year when URI controlled the sale of tickets.
It will be interesting to see how RPI sites define this game. Will this game be part of the Holy Cross season ticket package?

We have played BC there and UMass recently, otherwise we don't play at the DCU. It will be included with season ticket package

I believe that more than one game is needed for it to be a home court

I believe you are correct, hoops. If the sites agree. it could help our RPI.

Found some NCAA rules on the designation of games (home/away/neutral). It would seem that this game by these rules would be a home game for Holy Cross based on several different listed examples:

the beginning of the season is moved up every year - now it's Tuesday Nov 6th - with the final four in early April, the season is a solid 5 months long.

Strange that URI lists it as a neutral site game. Their RPI is helped more if they win an away game, rather than a neutral site one.

If it is a "home game" for us, wouldn't URI want (or have) to count the game as an "away game" for them? Wouldn't RPI give them more credit for an away win vs. a neutral win?

If it is an HC "home" game, it would help the URI RPI.

URI should definitely want it to be listed as an away game for RPI reasons.
There has been some ongoing debate on the Rhody forum regarding another game designation. URI is playing West Virginia at Mohegun Sun. In exchange for West Virginia agreeing to play URI in Uncasville, they will play a game at Morgantown the following season. The game at Mohegun Sun vs West Virginia is however part of a triple-header which is being sponsored (Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Holiday Showcase presented by Citi). The venue is some 40 miles from the URI campus in the next state and is not part of the URI season ticket package.

HC is in the Mohegan Sun tourney also, Springfield division, Friday/Saturday

Ours is the tip off tourney. This Other one sounds like a Christmas showcase.

You are correct. They are separate events. This is more like several years ago in Jan-2010 when URI played Oklahoma State and Holy Cross met CCSU in a one day doubleheader there.

Sounds like HCFC45 is opening up the spare room to bunk Crossporters for a couple of nights ...BYOB. And just for Tom ... Mrs. HCFC45 will be driving the shuttle bus to Mohegan Sun.

Just booked flight to Detroit over Veterans Day weekend. Got a decent price on Delta out of Stewart. Anyone know of a convenient hotel in Ann Arbor?

sader81. Try Holiday Inn at 3155 Boardwalk. Near the I-94/State Rd. exit for easy access from and to Metro Airport. Near Briarwood Mall with plenty of restaurants. 2.5 to 3 miles from the Crisler Center. (No affiliation with Holiday Inn😊).
