Thought there was a thread started, but could not find it. Anyway, I see from our friend Unhfan (posting on the AE board) that HC will NOT be playing UNH this year (the Cats released their schedule). And, Vermont released their schedule......and HC is playing there 11/28!
This is what I think we've got:
HOME
11/6 (Tues) - Sacred Heart 12/1 (Sat) - Fairleigh Dickinson 12/22 (Sun) - Siena
12/8 (Sat) -URI (DCU)
AWAY
11/10 (Sat) - Michigan 11/13 (Tues) - Providence 11/20 (Tues) - Albany
11-28 (Wed) - Harvard 12/4- (Tues) - UMass Iona
NEUTRAL 11/16 (Fri) - Stony Brook 11/18 (Sun) - Siena/Norfolk State
Some updated dates; this time, used actually released schedules as the source. Couldn't find one for Iona. Would appear there still is 1 game that could be scheduled.
Although locals won't be beating down the doors for tickets, at least the students should be around for the 2 NEC games.

Should revise Vermont to a maybe at this point. I had read this on the Ivy board, but I cannot see where it is actually posted on the Vermont bball site.

It is sad that the only way we seem to be able to ferret out the HC schedule is by checking the schedules of our opponents.

Good Late Morning Gentlemen,
I hope this post finds everyone and their families well. I attended the UNH Basketball banquet back in May and when Coach Herrion announced the schedule Holy Cross was coming to Durham. I believe the game would have been the forth and final game of the current contract. I was surprised when the schedule came out and Holy Cross was not on it. I'm not sure what happened but am going to ask Coach Herrion if I see him at the Fall Football game. I'm sure a lot of you fine gentlemen will be coming to Wildcat Stadium in early October. In term of Vermont maybe their coming to the Cross this year?

That had been the standard for URI in the recent past. Seems to have changed this season with a new coach as the OOC schedule was released June 8th and it included the maximum number of games, all vs D1 teams. Scheduling was not one of former Coach Hurley's strengths. While he generally lined up some very good opponents and a strong strength of schedule, he failed to schedule the maximum number of games several seasons and did not release the slate until late August when all options were finally exhausted. Furthermore, Hurley's negotiating skills (along with the AD that signed off) may rightfully be questioned given the Nevada fiasco. He put together a home and home series contract with Nevada that started last year in Reno with a supposed return in Kingston for 2018-19. The contract however had a buyout of just $50,000 which the Wolfpack recently decided to exercise and skip a trip to RI. This amount has in hindsight been called low by standards for higher level teams, especially when cross country travel is required. Fellow A-10 member Davidson, for example, also started a series with Nevada at the same time but had a 75k buyout provision. Typically most schools honor their contracts (even more so with non P5 schools) but the Wolfpack did not want to return the game and thought getting what was essentially a cheap 50k buy game last year versus a top 20 RPI and NCAA at large team (that turned out to be their best win of the year) was a good bargain. URI was still figuring this game into its schedule just a few months ago and moved back a game with Alabama (with their consent) when it had the opportunity to play West Virginia at Mohegun Sun. Nevada, which will be highly ranked, was to be the prime game for the home OOC schedule. That was why URI was willing to move the home game with Alabama. Nevada however did not inform URI until very late that it would not honor its initial commitment. Rhody was then forced to scramble to find another home game and got Harvard (which via the slate will probably be the most attractive team of the home OOC).

URI is not happy with him. This was the Rhode Island AD's comments about the situation in the schedule press release:
"We are disappointed in Nevada's decision to exercise its option within the contract to pay the buyout rather than return the game this year," Bjorn said. "We played a great game in Reno last year and planned to provide a similarly great event at the Ryan Center. We acknowledge it is Nevada's right to pay the buyout rather than return the game to URI this year. That said, it certainly wasn't in the spirit of the agreement we signed, but with that we will move on."
Making it even worse was the late date it exercised the buyout option. If URI had known they would do that, they would have kept the game with Alabama this season making it the premier home OOC match-up to drive ticket sales and interest. Nevada in no way worked with URI to alter the series terms in order to honor a return. It wanted no return game at any future date and was actually still working to complete its schedule for this year starting new series after opting out. It was a no class move on the part of Musselman and Nevada.

I assume Vermont isn't a guarantee game ......so we should see them at the Hart in 19-20. UVM does not have a home game on 11-28, so maybe the game is at HC

Vermont has released their home schedule, HC is not on it. Just curious (and I am far from Search savvy) - where did you see their schedule? When I look on their men's basketball page, all I see is the conference schedule.
I read the America East and Ivy message boards every Saturday morning, and I swear the HC game was listed on this Vermont schedule posted by poster rbq (second message down, the 11/28 game is now not listed):
I left my credit card at a restaurant last night, so maybe I am losing it......

Dave, They released the home schedule one game at a time via twitter on Thursday or Friday. Several local news outlets put them together to form the schedule, which you can see in the UVM Men’s BB twitter feed linked here twitter.com/uvmmbb?lang=en

Uh oh. Think we might need to start a Sign Up Genius to track the volunteers to pick Dave up for each home game.

Maybe someday we can get to the point where we have a game like this in Worcester:
One of the most enjoyable games I've ever witnessed in person.
