Offers from at least Binghamton, Brown, Hartford and Towson. Here’s what NERR said about him recently:
Joe Pridgen, Expressions Elite - He may not fit into any conventional positions but history has shown that if you can make an impact in the EYBL then you can make an impact at the next level. Pridgen has done that and more while sparking Expressions' 8-4 start. He's averaged over 8 points and 5 rebounds per game while connecting on 57% of his field goal attempts. More impressive though is the fact that he's doing it while often matched-up with players three or four inches taller. He's made plays around the rim and in the open floor alike while bringing a toughness, motor, and mentality that can't be measured by feet and inches.

From last summer when he was a 6’3” guard.
Joe Pridgen 2019 6'3 guard High School: Governor's Academy (MA) AAU Team: Expressions Elite- As usual, Expression Elite did a nice job sourcing New England talent from the loaded NEPSAC prep schools. Coach Josh Corria was enjoying a sweet talent edge on this 16U team that was led by Pridgen's ability to dominate a basketball game. This thick, strong, and athletic guard can do it all. On defense, he prowls and harvests in the passing lanes to feed his dunk highlights. He bodies up nicely to separate lighter guards from their dribble. He will drain the uncontested three, but secretly prefers to be contested so he can blow by and slash. He will go to college for free.

Welcome, Joe!
He was extended an opportunity and now has the opportunity. Sounds like this might be Blake Verbeek re-dux - as soon as the first official 2019 scholarship becomes available, he gets it.

Metzerndorf, Kennedy, and Freeman re-tweeted Pridgen's commitment tweet. I thought coaches were supposed to stay quiet about this stuff prior to NLI.

Looks like a tough, physical kid who can mix it up inside. Pesky defender, good timing on his blocks. Like the idea of Pridgen and Butler on the court together.

Governor's Academy is located in Byfield, MA (North Shore area). They are a NEPSAC Class B program, like Roxbury Latin (Benzan) and St. Luke's (Walter Whyte). Playing in the ISL, they will probably be on the road next year vs. St. Sebastian's (Needham), Noble & Greenough (Dedham), Groton School (Groton), and St. Mark's (Southborough) among others, for those local posters who want to watch him. More significant than his prep school comp was his play at EYBL, the top grass roots league

Even though the comp may not be that strong, he is a great combination of athleticism and multiple skills—his finishes at the rim are especially impressive, particularly when he dunks through defenders He and Hargis give us athletes similar to Eric Green

More from NERR:
Joe Pridgen, Governors Academy – He spent his spring being a jack of all trades in the EYBL and came here to show his playmaking ability. Pridgen is powerful with a good frame and high motor. He was in attack mode from start to finish, able to play through contact and overpower the vast majority of defenders, and a definite mismatch problem with an almost positionless type game.

More NERR:
Joe Pridgen and Preston Santos give Expressions two low-maintenance, high-energy athletes who are willing to scrap and do the dirty work necessary to help their team win games. Pridgen and Santos have combined to average 16.6 points and 10.4 rebounds per game while hitting 54% of their field goal attempts. Pridgen, a 6’6” man-child who doesn’t back down from anyone in the paint, was exceptional in a win over the PSA Cardinals, scoring 18 points on 6-7 FG/3-5 FT/1-1 3pt while hauling in 5 boards and dropping off 4 dimes in the process.

Based on his July play, he should move up in the NERR rankings which were done before the July season.

Based on his July play, he should move up in the NERR rankings which were done before the July season. If he moves up, that will be very impressive, given that more than 15 good players will be added to the pool, i.e. those from outside of New England who choose to prep for their senior year (or a post-grad).

High praise from Adam Finklestein. If he turns out to be a warrior a la Jared Curry, I'll take that. Attitudes like that tend to be contagious on a team.
