(Figured this merited its own thread from the non-conf schedule thread):
I don't think there are any real surprises here. What strikes me is that, with the earlier opener vs. SHU and the November tournament, the OOC schedule is less compressed than usual. Only 5 games in December; that seems light.
Also strikes me that the PL schedule is remarkably favorable in terms of academics. Once spring semester starts, there's only one bad weeknight road trip (Colgate in late February). The other midweek road games during spring semester are @ Army (during first week of classes) and @ BU. Fall semester is pretty good in that regard too... weeknight road games are all "local": Albany, UMass, Providence, Harvard.

Not that anyone cares, but I'm not a fan of the Thursday afternoon against Canisius. Not sure if they're trying to capture the students after that last final but before they hit the road. They host Sienna two days later so we're not getting the guys a jump forward on home for the holidays

You just can't make this stuff up a 2:05 game on a non holiday Thursday, maybe it's a senior citizens special to get everyone home before dark.

Wonder why the uncertainty of the Loyola away game ? Why would it possibly be on a Thursday instead of the usual Wednesday ? the day after New Year’s Day ?

Will there be a pre-season game against Assumption? The Lady schedule has a Assumption game listed.

The Loyola game on Jan 2-3 is probably due to see if President Trump could attend on one of those days.

I would say the Loyola game should be Thursday, and the team should stay in the area until Sunday when we play at Navy. To return to Worcester for a day or so and return to BWI makes no sense. That's why they will probably do it that way !

Especially makes sense when there are no classes

The league generates the conference sked, not the individual schools. Impossible to create a sked that placates all in any sport, at any level.

Add the Harvard game to the December games...it's a very early Thanksgiving (22nd) this year. So two weeks of two games a week, followed by a 12 day break. I sincerely doubt there will still be students around on the 22nd.

The first game at Mohegan Sun, the sked has it at 8:30, the Tourney web site has it at 6...

Wacky league schedule (I'm sure bison or somebody has an explanation). Last year the schedule started and ended with the same opponent (Colgate). This time, we play both Loyola games before we even play all of the other members (same deal with the Navy games). Not getting it.

The first game at Mohegan Sun, the sked has it at 8:30, the Tourney web site has it at 6... The Athletic Department really needs to get its act together! Too many typos, no proof reading before things go out, etc., etc. The department has grown so big now and with people coming and going, there are just too many moving parts to keep track of. They really need to "oil this baby up" and fine tune things so that it runs smoothly!

A lot of bad writing, or should I say bad editing, going around. Just the other day one of the Globe writers was commenting on "past balls" by their fill-in catcher, But ler.

Well, what was the context? Did this catcher used to have intestinal fortitude and now is a wimp?

A couple of weeks ago, he failed to frame some borderline pitches that could have been called strikes.

there is no reason we don't play BC. Last I checked it takes BOTH schools to agree to play. Did you float this to Martin Jarmond as well?

Might be off the thread too, but Blake Verbeek (freshman) at 6'10" and just 190 pounds has to be one of our skinniest b-ball players ever.

BC finished their 2-1 obligation after HC embarrassed them at the Centrum and hasn't been interested since then. Of course they also chose not to play after HC had thugs like Vander Baan beating up on poor little Craig Smith and changed their minds On the other hand, HC unilaterally dropped BC in football. It does take two to tango
