It may well be frequent, but that does not IMHO make it either ethical or "correct."

It looks like the other QB verbal commit in this class is a pretty solid bet to sign his LOI -- ONE WEEK TO GO UNTIL THE EARLY SIGNING PERIOD OPENS!!! nice to see; I thought I saw a knee brace on one of his in season photos

Sounds like tampering to me, but I don't know all of the technicalities. It is but so far NCAA has taken a hands off policy with the portal. Tampering is common in Bball much more than football at least so far. Spencer had significant G5 interest. Even so, it seems odd that a P5 team would recruit an FCS undergrad. Yet they did.

Agreed. Saw that - indicated in the post prior to the one above this regarding Hope. In the case of Spencer, Hard to imagine giving up a full ride scholarship and guaranteed playing time over the next 4 years to roll the dice for playing time at the FBS. But.....we see it every day now. Heck it happened here to HC with Hunter Helms decommitting in hopes of getting an FBS offer. Happened to Fordham with Dan Villani, and despite my lack of understanding the situation, it will continue to occur. From a Father's standpoint - if my son had a 4 year full scholarship at FCS and wanted to walk on to fulfill a life long dream of playing FBS at a school with a lower academic reputation I'd have a very hard time paying that tuition bill. Granted every situation is unique, etc., but fail to see the logic on this one. That assumes he had a full ride. The cost of attendance at Oklahoma State for out-of-state student is about $38,000, In-state about $23,000. Assuming for the purpose of illustration that he was not on a full ride at LU, and If he can establish OK residence going forward, then the cost differential between being an Oklahoma State PWO and someone having with a 3/4 scollie at Lehigh is not all that much.

Pete Muldoon went to John Carroll, no? Yes he and Pat O’Brien played for Maus Collins a great man and a legend in the DC area-after he retired the first time Gonzaga hired him to resurrect their program-they had one hiccup in his time there, my son kicked a last second field goal at half and end of the game to give him a loss. EBW was important part of Peter and Pat selecting our great institution

NC State and Syracuse offers? I'm not saying this is the kind of recruit we should be liking, but I'm not saying it's not.

Seriously, if we can recruit for football like we did in the 80s...offering a full schoarship, playing at the level we did then, with what an HC education can provide etc...we should be getting a fair amount of these highly touted recruits imo....it's not rocket science...we self-hamstrung ourselves for 30 odd years for reasons I'm still trying to understand

/\ I think our best recruiter ever was Carter. Folks forget that Duffner's very best players (Lockbaum, Wiley, McCabe, Rob McGovern, etc.) were Carter recruits (and recruited pre-PL BTW).
I'm sort of guessing but as I recall some of Carter's best players were recruited by Carter (Fenerty [transfers are recruits IMHO], Bill McGovern and Pete Muldoon, for example) and some were recruited by Wheelwright.
