f***n guys cannot shoot a lick. Benzan's a senior guard. Can't shoot over 65% from the line.

Do we have a foul to give?

Holy Cross 9-16 from the line.... That's hurt.

Foul on the inbounds. They are not in the bonus. If they are, then, don't listen to me!

Floyd saves the day but guard had a clear path to the hoop.

Too bad your friend Irene had to leave early--she missed a gritty comeback by the Crusaders in a challenging game

Canisius didn't score in the final 5:13.
A 12-0 run to end the game.

I don't like claiming we played well in games we lose, so I'm not going to complain about getting a W.

Just the perfect ending for this game.
A horribly defended possession (one HC player was going to watch the ball handler take a layup) that gets completely bailed out by Floyd.
A horribly played game that was completely won by the play of Jehyve Floyd. We would have lost by 20 without him, and this team is in serious trouble without him next year.
Go Cross Go!

An unlikely script, but a win. As we know a win is a win is a win!

Floyd simply took over. Only one on the team capable of that sort of physical dominance. He should - and will - do that thru the PL schedule. This is our shot at a PL run as I see no more Floyds on the near horizon for us.

Many HC errors but they can learn from it and move on to Siena.

Had every reason to lose that game, but didn’t. These type of games build character in a young team. They never quit and gave themselves a chance to win. I really like this team!

Survive and advance, baby.
This team has late-game grit.

The man of the game was clearly JF...but don't lose sight of the other players who scored 50 of the team's 65 points, had 23 of the team's 30 rebounds and tightened up the team defense to shut off Canisius down the stretch. Why some keep pointing out that JF will not be here next year, I don't understand. Almost all of those other players will be back. Do some of us always need to see the glass as "half empty?"

Some do, yes. But they don't seem to understand the nature of college sports. Your seniors leave, the underclassmen step up. Wash, rinse, repeat.
I have high hopes for this year's team, and don't intend to put a lot of thought into next year. Hopefully we can start that argument in late March after an NCAA run.

Classic example today of shots not falling: Grandi went 1-8 on threes today (and 0-3 versus URI) yet no one will be able to convince me that he has forgotten how to shoot.
Things did not go our way today, yet we still won, still beat a weaker team that we should have defeated by 10+

Ray and KY, I agree with all you say. Tough day after a layoff for exams, but this team had the grit to come away with a win. Now if their shots fall on Saturday, all will again be well. And, if MF can remember to avoid dumb fouls, HC could wrap up a very nice OOC part of the season.

I wonder if Grandison's shooting has anything to do with the ankle sprain (or whatever he had). Good enough to play but not 100 percent. Kind of like guys coming short on their shots when fatigue hits at end of game

GRITTY WIN!!!
love the toughness of this team. down 10 in the second half, ice cold from the field, multiple players in foul trouble, some calls that could have gone either way going against us, and we rally for the win. this is a character building win against a team that is not nearly as bad as the permabear sky is always falling types (yawn) made out. i don't think we win this game last year, and almost certainly not two years ago. we've certainly got a mentally tough team.
as predicted, after generally struggling against the power teams on the schedule, floyd was able to reassert his defensive and offensive dominance against teams at our level. absolutely awesome block to end out the game! i expect this to continue into pl play.
also great to see grandison not only healthy, but providing his steady offensive production and a couple of key defensive plays today. such a versatile player and a true go to guy offensively.
as for the free throws that could have built a bigger lead, if benzan cannot improve all of his misses at critical points in the game, he needs to sit. we have some other lineup options (when niego is healthy), but i am hopeful he gets it back together as he brings a lot of other positives to the floor.
nice to pull off this win today after a sloppy start to the second half. i think we will knock off siena on saturday, building up a nice head of steam going into pl play.

JF was amazing--scored some big baskets and had the five blocks and no doubt intimidated a few of the Griffins near the basket after they saw what he could do. He passed Malcolm Miller today on the career blocks list and now is in third place with 145. Nate Lufkin is in second with 153 but in 2 or 3 games he'll likely swap places with Jehyve. Big Tim Clifford has a huge, but not insurmountable, lead in first place with 210. JF would need 3/game for the rest of the season to challenge Tim.

Agree with most of the comments here.
One additional thought: We got a lot of the 50/50 ref calls today and some non calls allowed JF to be on the floor for that last shot.
One or two of those calls go the other way and we lose a heart breaker.
I'll take it. Lot better to be 7-4 than 6-5. This guarantees an OOC winning record. Nice....and at least IMO, unexpected.

Interesting end of game strategy, Carmody said told team not to leave their man was afraid of losing on a three, apparently that's why no one tried to pick up the player driving uncontested to hoop, luckily Floyd was able to track him down and block shot once he passed him at foul line.
