Matt B, an AU partisan, has been trolling here for some time, just not on this iteration of the board. He likes to take pokes at Holy Cross, that's all.

Was a student there 15 or more years ago. He used to give his rankings of PL recruiting classes every year on his blog. The one thing that I remember is him giving a fairly low ranking to the Bucknell class of McNaughton, D. Brown, Clark, and Badmus.

I know people from Bucknell, Colgate and Lehigh. That may be your view from the outside. I have heard others PL people express other views. Regardless, we shouldn’t be talking about how the league holds us back. We have a long way to go to express that view on this board. Just my opinion, which ain’t worth much. For what it's worth, I have been laughing at this board's view of HC hoops for 20 years or so. Y'all never change. Good luck in the Big East? Or is it the fantasy Catholic Conference you're still putting together somewhere? Will check back in 5 years and see how it's going. Yer old Pal MattB Yes, please check in 5 years - we’ll be here, I promise, still pissed that we can’t get our act together and probably talking about yet another new coach we are ready to fire :-). Wash, rinse, repeat. I may even set up automatic standard posts. My hope is there will be more happiness over on the football side on this forum soon.

Always nice to have a Bucknell fan and an AU fan exchanging pleasantries on the Holy Cross board.

Great to hear from you. Actually we now have our sights set on the ACC. Go big or go home. A letter writing campaign is in the cards to have the Jesuits send BC packing to the PL and elevate HC to the ACC.

Matt B-- welcome back to the board. Whether it's the keen insights and solid facts we hear from bison137 and Lehigh supporters, or the smugness and condescension you demonstrated in your return post above, we always like hearing from fans of other PL teams.

Despite the name 3-2, it worked differently with WPI. More of a 1-3-1 (no pun intended). One year just at HC, Three years running across the city attending both, One year just at WPI. At the end you get two bachelors - one from each school. There would be no opportunity for red shirting because in that 5th year, the student has graduated from HC and is not enrolled there I believe that the Columbia arrangement has been in place for at least 10 yrs... friends in Worcester had a son who did his last 2 yrs at Columbia... I have had discussions the NROTC about this program; in general the Navy requires that an ROTC student must be commissioned and go on active duty when the 4 year bachelor's degree is awarded... however the student could get a waiver for a 5th year to complete the degree if circumstances are approved. The HC Navy staff understands that the 3-2 program awards 2 bachelors, one from each school, upon completion of the 5th year and thus would be eligible for the waiver. Also Columbia provides NROTC through Kings Point which would facilitate the use of the student's ROTC scholarship. That said I'm not aware of any HC NROTC student using this program in the last 10 years. Probably the biggest name HC athlete to complete the 3-2 program was Michael Vicens. Easy to do (logistically) if the program is fully in the Woo, but nearly impossible if the Engineering portion is in Hanover or upper Manhattan - especially for a sport that spans both semesters. I would think that we could find a way to compete with the likes of Lehigh for football playing engineering-types, but only if those student-athletes were willing to spend four of ten semesters someplace other than on Mt. St. James.

What a crock that statement was in our former AD's bio. I can't believe someone would put that in print.

So was Academic All-American Bruce Kozerski - Played in the Super Bowl with the Bengals Kozerski graduated from HC in 1983 and needed to complete one full year at WPI to get his second degree. In a move I give him a lot of credit for, he did go back to WPI to get his second bachelors. He took off the fall of 83 from WPI to play for the Bengals and came back to WPI for the spring semester. He did the same thing the next year and graduated from WPI in the class of 1985. Lots of pro athletes don't bother with finishing a single degree and drop out right after their final college season. Kozerski had a degree from HC but went the extra mile and got his second degree with his NFL contract in hand
