Something tells me Nelson could find an effective way to distribute 80 minutes among three very talented guys. But more crowded if AB and Cope are at the 2 also. He will be a loss you don't want to deal with right now, but we have a variety of options at the guard slot depending on the style of play. And with the two from Michigan we are in good shape given this likely will be a 3 guard offense for the next year or two until bigs can be found on the current or future roster

Perhaps that is Wade who plays 1and 2 or Yeutter can develop and give a handful of minutes at the point, or an experienced athlete from the football team can join the squad—not saying it is easy but if he was hurt for the season we would be faced with the same options i know you are right but I am trying to think of a way to improve a tough situation

Wade played some point in AAU last spring, but his team did not experience success until Lowder came to the team for the summer AAU and Wade played exclusively at the two.

The other possibility is to grab a true point that remains unsigned and was going to do a pg year.

You never know about transferring and buyers remorse.
My sophomore year I had a close friend, who decided to transfer to another school. It was an Ivy in his home state. At the end of May, we said our goodbyes, and I told him I would visit, since his new school was in a city that I lived.
In August of our junior year, his new school started about two weeks before the HC semester, so I dropped by his new school a couple of times to hang out and take in the social scene. On my last visit to his new school, he said I’ll see you soon. I initially thought he was being polite, and would come up to visit our friends at HC. He then dropped a bomb shell and said he was transferring back to HC. I thought he was kidding and giving me a raz. That was on a Thursday evening. On Saturday I returned to HC, with registration in the field house scheduled for a Monday. As I was standing in line for registration, who walks up, but my friend who decided that his new school was not the right school for him, and he came back to HC.
Not saying this will happen with Caleb, but I have first hand experience with a friend, who thought the grass was greener at an Ivy, got there, and realized his mistake and came back to HC. Hope the guys on the team will convince Caleb to stay.

Was the Ivy in question by any chance the University of Pennsylvania?

Very interesting exchange of posts. I had a similar experience, obviously a few years before yours. Had a buddy freshmen year who we agreed to be roommates our sophomore year. He was from a wealthy Philipine family and, this being before iPhones, the Internet and social media, we did not connect the summer before the start of our sophomore year. I show how up on campus a day or so before registration and I see my new "roommate" who proceeds to tell me, "you're going to hate me" because he just came back to campus to pick up some paper work to complete his transfer to UPenn. I never saw him again though we did write once or twice afterwards and kept in touch for awhile. His father was a Philipine senator and friends with Marcos and his family owned some large sugar cane plantations and they wanted him to get the best business education and felt UPenn was better than HC for that. Lost track of of him but assume he is still wealthy and doing well without his Holy Cross degree.

If you are Class of '72, 'tis I to whom you refer! Great to hear from you. Hope I depicted the story accurately. I was very happy to see you in the field house that Monday morning with your return to HC. Wish we could have talked more at the last reunion. I appreciated your friendship while at HC.

Lori's only hope now is to play a scheming villain on the Lifetime Movie channel.

Regarding Caleb - I very much want him to stay, partly because I think it will be difficult to replace his slot before 2021 (you generally recruit one every 2 years, and Drew is just getting here). But, if he does leave (and if anyone else does), I hope we will have some class and avoid dumping on him. It's his life.

All you social media hounds, Do JG and/or CG have Twitter or Instagram accounts that anybody follows? Have either player posted anything?

Both have Twitter. Neither very active in the last 9-12 months. A few re-tweets of things like HC hype videos. Nothing from either about transferring.

That is good to hear. From what I hear from Fairfield, none of the fans seem to be to excited about the possibility of adding Caleb. They don’t believe he would leave HC for FU.

FWIW, per verbalcommits.com, Fairfield has no open scholarships. VC does, though, list both CG and JG as being in the transfer portal.

Would it be normal for student athletes to post about the transfer process on social media before its official? Announcements of meetings / official visits, etc. I have Instagran (no Twitter, no FB) but dont follow any college age individuals so I would be out of the loop on the standard etiquette there.
