Actually, we beat you 13-10. It was right there on the scoreboard. You need to get over this idea you have that UNH is still a much better program than HC. It is not. Your kidding me right? Your offense did not score a touchdown all day. UNH had the high snap that led to the one td you got when we fumbled. UNH’s qbs over threw and missed receivers the last leading to the interception. Come on I realize your a fan of the Cross but if you think Holy Cross won and UNH didn’t beat themselves I’m not sure what game you were watching. We played a ton of freshman, played our third string center due to injury and were without our head coach a recipe for disaster and it was. Enjoy the win but please don’t go to the usual extreme of upsetting a team and thinking you’re ready for Alabama. It’s been since 2009 since the Cross made the playoffs. Maybe the long drought ends. 2-2 with a CAA team enjoy it! Let it go. No one (but you) said anything about Alabama. That sort of comment just looks silly. Did you notice how many frosh and sophs (real sophs, not red-shirt frosh) played for HC? Both teams are young. Yes, the play your team called in their own end zone was probably not the best, but it was the HC defense that took advantage of it...first buy stopping the rb for a safety and then, punching the ball loose before he hit the grould to set up the winning TD. I do think "HC won" because that is what happens when you score more points. Did UNH "beat themselves?" That is up for interpretation. If HC's defense did not take advantage of the play, they could have still won. I wish your coach all the best for a recovery. I wish UNH good fortune the rest of the way. I am not sure what drought you speak about, since HC has now won 2 of the last 3 games. I also do not really care, since this win was a good one. Be well.

Congrats gentlemen never thought we would beat our self but that’s what happen. A really bad loss for UNH but a game we deserved to lose. 2-2 after the four year series very impressive for Holy Cross for UNH embarrassing. Enjoyed my trip to Worcester minus the Cats handing you the game. It would be great to see you guys get a nice facility for the quality young men that play for your fine institution. I must say I was surprised by the cushioned seats and no chair backs. 30.00 for cushion on a bleacher your season ticket holders deserve better! Best of luck the rest of the way! Fitton Field is the second oldest college football stadium in the nation, I believe. It's a grand old lady. Before there was a DJ and raucous rap music (although I did find myself bee-bopping to the beat) there has been a ton of quality football played there and much more to come. Plus, it's been debt free for a century. It's sturdy, it's safe. it's affordable. It's used five or six times a year. It's great. Going forward, I'm going to be referring to Fitton as "the grand old lady" Great view of the game from anywhere in the stadium.

How about a little bit of class instead of whining as if Holy Cross didn’t play a good game too. And even though you don’t want to credit our team, I’ll try to have a little more class than you and say I wish our quarterback could scramble like yours - that’s some mobility I wish we had.

You've got to know when to cut your losses.re: posting on this board, I get that you are pleased with your "ready for Alabama" phrase, but no one is suggesting that HC is some kind of juggernaut now. There wasn't a single "run the table" comment that I can recall. Your kidding me right? Your offense did not score a touchdown all day. [and yours got only one] UNH had the high snap that led to the one td you got when we fumbled [so HC capitalized on the lack of talent of your center] . UNH’s qbs over threw and missed receivers [okay, so you lack in talent/experience at the most important position] the last leading to the interception. Come on I realize your a fan of the Cross but if you think Holy Cross won and UNH didn’t beat themselves [guess you cannot accept that HC has a tenacious defense] I’m not sure what game you were watching. We played a ton of freshman [poor recruiting for the earlier classes?] , played our third string center due to injury [depth and conditioning an issue for the Wildcats?] and were without our head coach [we wish him a speedy recovery] a recipe for disaster and it was. Enjoy the win but please don’t go to the usual extreme of upsetting a team and thinking you’re ready for Alabama. It’s been since 2009 since the Cross made the playoffs. That being said, I think HC can run the table. Syracuse might match up well athletically but, like UNH, not so much intellectually.

I didn’t read all the posts but agree with a lot of them.
O needs to be way better. But I’ll say this. We all agreed that OL and RB were huge positives going into the season
35 carries for 62 yards. It’s not a popular opinion but why isn’t this on the players too. Poor execution in the run game.
35 carries for 62. Coaches and play calling need to get better. No doubt about it. But black and white - OL and RBs need to start stepping it up too. A lot.

UNH being favored at -7.5 in their first game of the season. Strong finish last year in the CAA, beating JMU, Villanova, and Holy Cross (28-0). Hard not to take UNH from a points perspective as 7.5 seems like easy money. What did you end up putting down on the 'Cats?

Both offenses mirrored each other with limited talent at QB, similar formations, no play-action threat, and no run game. I guess this is what the game is these days. HC defense played great and deserve the kudos, however, I would have never imagined that HC would cover the spread having scored ZERO offensive touchdowns. In all honesty, I think UNH struggles to win 3 games this year and has a tough time in the CAA. That's not meant to take anything away from HC, just an observation.

The last time I spent half my paycheck to watch the Red Sox I was sitting to the right of the Pesky Pole, looking directly at Trot Nixon. No seats like that at FF

Reminds me of Fenway before the Red Sox did all the improvements. I was thinking HC could hire Janet Marie Smith, the architecture consultant who worked on Camden Yards, the continual upgrading of Fenway Park and now Polar Park to drive a mile up Southbridge St. when she is in town and give HC her thoughts on any practical upgrades to Fitton. Other than an obvious lack of a video board for replays, I don't know enough to know what is doable and what isn't.

No seats facing the wrong way at Fitton.

I am a Holy Cross alumnus and season ticket holder. I don't care what has been said about your comments, I am going to side with you all the way. UNH literally handed Holy Cross the game yesterday. In general, both defenses played well, but both offenses played very poorly. In general, I classify Holy Cross's offense as absolutely pathetic, as it shows no imagination. Unless their offense opens up, HC is not going to win many games. They can not rely on the defense to win every game.

UNH stacked the box and dared Degenhardt to beat them. Couldn't do it.

When are we going to get to see the video highlights? Is that usually a Monday thing? I want to watch that trick play a few more times, among other plays.

Who had the "young" team? The announcers referred to the youth of UNH, As did a poster here. I went through the two-deep as shown before the game and found the two teams are very similar in that regard. UNH = 5 frosh / 18 sophs and red-shirt frosh (a rose by any other name...) HC = 5 frosh and 17 sophs (no red-shirt frosh) The difference seems to be that HC has frosh and sophs who got it done.

The object is to score more points than your opponent. Period. It doesn't matter how you do it. No style points. This isn't ski jumping.

Russ Nixon? Fall River's Russ Gibson? (a catcher) Guessing you meant Trot. Prior to Russ Gibson (a member of the 67 Sox) the Sox did have a catcher named Russ Nixon. I probably went to 4 or 5 Red Sox games as a grade schooler before I saw them win a game, it was this one, and Mr. Nixon delivered! www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BOS/BOS196406260.shtmlCouple of things stick out of that game: 1. Tommy John pitched for the Tribe and was still in there in the bottom of the ninth. Faced the Sox order Four and a Half times! That never happens nowadays. 2. Time of game 2:08. That happens even less!
