Same story for me. I did the second reading tonight and resisted the blasphemous urge to update the parishioners on our svore. Yes, same story here for me as well .... Went to the 4:30 mass and sitting in the car, parking lot, listening to the radio. We are up 28 - 21, have the ball with about 5+ minutes left. Do I go in late and know how the game ended or go in on time and say a prayer for the victory? Chose the latter! After church found that we had won and outscored them in the last several minutes 21 to 7! WOW! Kudos to the players and coaching staff. You control your destiny! NOW, JUST DO YOUR JOB! And bring home the PL Championship ‘45 you finally have a smart phone. You can watch the game on it in church and pray in real time as you watch the action. Just be careful that you not cheer or curse at McCarthy while mass is ongoing. 😊 I went to the game with a pretty nasty chest cold. After watching over ten dropped passes and a 14-0 deficit, the elements got to me and I headed home. It was cold there with the wind. I had the game on my phone on the ride home, and watched the 4th qtr after the hour ride. It was interesting to read pages 3 thru 7 of this thread! I know the OC isn’t Mouse Davis, but he didn’t drop all those catchable passes. Great win for the boys!! As an aside, Fordham put up three tents on the parade ground with free food (dogs, burgers, pulled pork and salads) and a cash beer/wine tent for everyone in celebration of homecoming. It was very well done and hopefully some of the HC powers were there to take notes.

A similar set up was there the day before because of the Fordham-URI soccer playoff game and other campus activities

I was on the board today saying this team has a longgggg way to go. I still believe that because I think last week should have been a blow out. This week first half awful. DL - really not great. SOV - relax on HC92. He knows football as well as anyone on these posts Here’s fact. Last 7 games. HC averaging 31 points a game. Two putrid games against Harvard and Laf with a ton of turnovers. Not OC fault. Yes, at times it’s looked bad but facts are facts. You know what I never hear you say. What about the kids. What about the kids fumbling the ball. Your scapegoat is Murphy. I’ve met him. I know him. Fantastic guy. You might not like the play calls but do you ever blame the kids? Nope you don’t. You just rip Murphy. Why? Because it’s easy. Support him the way people do Gilmore. Both wear/wore purple. All the matters to me 31 points over last 7 games. I know I know. It’s flukey. Or it’s in spite of Murphy. How many dropped balls today. 5 turnovers against Laf and they scored 20 against Laf. Do you really think I’m attacking Murphy the man as opposed to Murphy the offensive coordinator? Come on. I don’t doubt that he isn’t a great guy. I really only care about HC’s ability to move the ball down the field and score points, something that we are too often challenged by. I don’t think “the kids” are put in a position to succeed, so will not be blaming them. However, I have been critical of Degenhardt — surely you have seen those posts. Perhaps the staff saw them, too, and gave MC a shot yesterday! Also, while the drops are obviously on the players and not Murphy, you also can’t tell me that drops are the reason for a very average offense this season. And sorry, 92.

Yes, should have thought that one through... but when they won, how could I explain jumping up and down on the pew after multiple calls to 911 to get this crazy guy who just lost his mind locked up! Then, hopefully find a guy on the bench who would have understood! !

It's been stated by other posters (bfoley), that the current offensive scheme is EXACTLY what Chesney had at Assumption. -RPO -Shotgun Handoffs, (IZ, OZ, Dive) -Multiple, Average to Slightly Above Average QB's in Rotation -Rely on defense and field position to win games If we are going to build a program around this philosophy, I believe we will always be sub par in the grand scheme of the FCS. Kudos to the team for the win, but could you imagine if they played the 2009 Holy Cross Football Team with this first half effort? It be 35-0 heading in for the break. I think we are a better defensive football team than in past years (kudos to Scott James), but we have regressed offensively and on special teams (Chesney and Co). Why did we wait until the second half to get Cozier the ball? I may be too critical, but we are not preparing for the first half of football games like a successful team should (players and coaches). Congrats but... We just scordd 49 points in a critical league road win, are now 8-1 in last 9 PL games, have a chance to go to the playoffs for the first time in a decade and second time in your lifetime and all you can do is complain. Enjoy. And btw not saying all is great, but I'll take where we are at this point in the rebuild process playing meaningful football in late November.

I was at the game and met a few other former players at Dagger John's at half and we watched the 3rd quarter inside...we got lucky on that opening kickoff but i'll take it.
My perspective on the offense is that we were actually running good routes, getting open in the passing game in the first half and were making accurate throws.. We must have had 10 drops at minimum, we should have been up 21-7 at the half in my opinion.
The run game picked up in the 2nd half as our passing game (catching balls) increased.
I still legitimately do not see what Murphy sees in that shotgun delayed handoff up the gut that has been stopped 55/58 times this year probably. Run the ball downhill or try to stretch the boundary, or run downhill off tackle.
Great to get the win...hopefully we carry that 2nd half momentum into the first half of Georgetown.

I dont mind the delayed handoff to Cozier because it gives him time to see the holes open up. But I dont know why we run that play with Oliver so much, especially inside the 10. Loved his nig TD run though!

Yep! Sorry typing while holding a newborn can be a challenge. My wife is due Dec 10th. Might have to set up some playdates in the future. I was thinking of making a little newborn t-shirt with a picture of Gilmore yelling. I'll send one your way.

The Patriot league has been bad for years and we both know that. But against the same competition year after year we have one championship since Clinton was in office. So you can keep poking holes in anything and everything if that is what makes you happy, but the reality is we are in position to get a ring. I choose to see this as a nice change from 3rd/4th/5th place finishes. And, if you are willing to be really honest, witht the young talent we have, this feels like it could be just the beginning. But, enjoy whatever it is you do enjoy.

Rule 4, section 2 Article 3, describes in A,B,C,D different scenarios of an inadvertent whistle.
A. During a legal forward pass or during a legal kick, if there's an IW, the down must be replayed (if all penalties are declined). No options.

I agree with the second point that we have great young talent and good things could be on the horizon (with small changes).

Loved his nig TD run though! No offense, but he's not Leveon Bell....We have a large enough sample size at this point to demonstrate this play does not work, plain and simple.
